My parking is blocking his view!

So, the neighbor has just asked DH to stop parking outside the house as it blocks his view! The front of our house joins the side of his house and apparently, that is where his lounge is. So when we park there, he can see our car from his chair and he doesn’t like it. DH explained that we have too small kids to get in and out of the car and so we won’t be parking further up the street and apparently we aren’t being neighbourly!
To be clear, we don’t park in front of his house, we park at the side which is also (partly) in front of our own house.
He has said he doesn’t want to have to phone the police? He is being ridiculous right?

Lol, he is being unreasonable and ridiculous. Let him ring the police and see if they care.

Sparklingbrook · 24/05/2019 19:53

Yes, he's being ridiculous. Is there anywhere else you could park in the name of neighbourly relations though?

RaffertyFair · 24/05/2019 19:54

Utterly ridiculous!
(Unless you are not disclosing to us an unused driveway or off street parking...)

BruceAndNosh · 24/05/2019 19:54

Phone the Police and tell them what?

I would understand if his view was majestic vista of the Peak District, but I suspect his "view" is the house opposite

AllFourOfThem · 24/05/2019 19:55

He is being ridiculous right?

Until you provide a diagram, I’m siding with him! Grin

RaffertyFair · 24/05/2019 19:56

You do realise that the essential element of a parking thread is needed - a diagram Wink

Scarydinosaurs · 24/05/2019 19:56

Please please get him to call the police, and be there when he does 😂

BackseatKnitter · 24/05/2019 19:58

Haha definitely let him ring the police, they won’t give him the time of day.

Don’t park elsewhere otherwise he’ll start asking you to change all sorts just to suit his whims.

LittleLongDog · 24/05/2019 19:58

What is his view? (When your car isn’t there obs)

wobblebot · 24/05/2019 19:59

Until you provide a diagram, I’m siding with him!

This ...

TheCanyon · 24/05/2019 20:00

Oh op, you're probably just blocking his noseying. I'd be gutted if someone did it to me too Blush

TooTrueToBeGood · 24/05/2019 20:00

Assuming you are legally parked he doesn't have a case. What he likes or doesn't like is irrelevant.

bobstersmum · 24/05/2019 20:02

We need a diagram!

PanamaPattie · 24/05/2019 20:02

Yes, the View Police will be all over this.

Fantasisa · 24/05/2019 20:03

I would usually say he is being unreasonable but we once lived somewhere where the front door opened straight onto the street and the builder next door would park his fleet of vans in front of our house instead of his own. They blocked all the natural sunlight from coming into the downstairs of the house. He was legally parked but I didn’t feel he was parked fairly.

CheddarandCrackers · 24/05/2019 20:03

he can see our car from his chair and he doesn’t like it

Tell him to move his chair as you can see it when you park and you don't like it. Grin

sonjadog · 24/05/2019 20:10

He is being ridiculous about phoning the police, but is there really nowhere else you can park? Although you are within your rights to park there, I think I too would prefer if my neighbour did not park right outside my window if there was another possibility.

ApocalypseNowt · 24/05/2019 20:12

< chants > Diagram...diagram....diagram....

hidinginthenightgarden · 24/05/2019 20:17

Roots for paper for diagram.....

Or photo..not picky

hidinginthenightgarden · 24/05/2019 20:20

1 and 2 are the cars.
We could park directly Opposite his house which I think he would prefer as he has a garage that he parks in. But then we have to cross a road with our toddler.
Not worth it for his view!

My parking is blocking his view!

Do you have a garage?

Abbazed · 24/05/2019 20:24

romeoonthebalcony · 24/05/2019 20:24
