What is your least favourite household chore?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times but hey, I'm sat breastfeeding a very hungry newborn and need some entertainment.

What is your least favourite household job? I generally quite enjoy housekeeping and don't mind doing the laundry but I just cannot bear putting clean clothes away. I find it so, so tedious.

Nah... my bathroom dust is 99% towel fluff. I know this because it changes colours according to which towels are out. This week we have purple dust. Last week was orange.

Loopytiles · 22/05/2019 19:43

Bedlinen.

Cooking - fine in small doses, thankless daily for ungrateful DC!

outsho · 22/05/2019 19:46

Changing bedding and putting laundry away.

Itsnotme123 · 22/05/2019 20:09

I don’t understand why people hate ironing. It’s the one job where you can watch telly at the same time, so your mind is taken off it.

I hate hoovering.

lucysmam · 22/05/2019 20:35

Hoovering the stairs! Or ironing, not keen on that either really.

MadisonAvenue · 23/05/2019 01:47

Hoovering the stairs, made worse by the fact that we have two flights.
Pegging the washing out, and then taking it back in once dry.
Preparing vegetables.

As for bathroom dust, our ensuite gets very dusty but the family bathroom doesn't. My theory is that the extractor fan in the ensuite is the closest to the outlet so any dust blowing in hits that first and makes it's way onto the surfaces. It's certainly not towel fluff or toilet roll dust as it's always a very fine black dust.

IABUQueen · 23/05/2019 01:51

Putting laundry away was the first that sprung to mind when I read your title.

I wish there was a life hack

TowerRingInferno · 23/05/2019 09:42

Putting laundry away

Wheresmrlion · 23/05/2019 10:46

Emptying the dishwasher. I don’t mind stacking it but for some reason emptying it seems a much harder task.

I also used to hate cleaning the cat food bowls/area but my husband took that over when I got pregnant the first time and I haven’t yet told him that it doesn’t make me feel sick anymore. That was three years ago Wink.

lilywillywoo · 24/05/2019 20:57

Cleaning blinds. Those stupid slats. Got one of those fluffy finger tools, absolutely rubbish, just prolongs the agony. As a result, they are very rarely done. Only if we have important visitors.
Cleaning the kitchen floor, which appears to be a never ending task

Holymolymackerel · 24/05/2019 21:20

Ironing. Absolutely hate it.

SpaceCadet4000 · 24/05/2019 22:18

Laundry. Taking it out of the hamper always involves dropping a few items. I always manage to clank myself and get a bruise when filling or emptying the machine and dryer. It comes out hideously tangled. Then you have to fold all the bloody stuff and put it away which is just so monotonous.

user123454321 · 24/05/2019 22:25

Yep I'm another vote for cleaning windows and blinds. You think you've done a good job then the sun shines through and grrr...

DaisyAWhoops · 25/05/2019 08:15

I hate cleaning windows. Hate it. I only do it because my bloody cats rub their noses all over it and I hate the smears more then the job.

I also hate cleaning out the litter tray. It's the release of ammonia. Best part of being pregnant was not being able to do it!

Oh and I also don't peel potatoes. I just lie and say that all the vitamins are in the skin. It also means that I don't have to worry about smooth mash (unless I'm trying to be posh/have visitors!).

areyoubeingserviced · 25/05/2019 08:19

Absolutely hate ironing
I made a pact with dh that I would marry him if he did all the ironing. He broke the pact.

areyoubeingserviced · 25/05/2019 08:21

Also I hate putting laundry away.
I get particularly angry when I have odd pairs of socks for ds.
My solution; only buy the same socks

Corneliawildthing · 25/05/2019 08:29

Hoovering. I lose patience when the cord gets wrapped around something and end up yanking ii in temper
OH now does the hoovering Grin

IABUQueen · 25/05/2019 11:28

For those hating cleaning windows get the vileda window cleaner. My flat has glass windows ceiling to floor and I didn’t touch them for a long time as I hate cleannnt windows and the vileda saved my life.

For those who hate Hoovering and chords getting tangled and dragging it up the stairs, get a cordless and it has a stairs attachment which is lighter ! Worth it!

user123454321 · 25/05/2019 11:41

Do you mean one of these?

What is your least favourite household chore?
samandpoppysmummy · 25/05/2019 11:48

Emptying the dishwasher and changing the beds

Heymummee · 25/05/2019 11:54

Putting laundry away is the bane of my life. I also HATE mopping

Moominfan · 25/05/2019 11:59

The goddamn skirting boards. I clean them and they just gather dust again the next day it's sooo tedious and never bloody ending

IABUQueen · 25/05/2019 12:36

User yes that’s the one I got and works very well for me !

HUZZAH212 · 25/05/2019 12:38

I do not iron ever... I also loathe picking up dog shit from the garden ( I do it though).

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 25/05/2019 12:40

Drying up and putting away clean dishes.
Don't mind the washing up. Just the second part of it.

But I like to have an empty sink/draining board...
