What is your least favourite household chore?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times but hey, I'm sat breastfeeding a very hungry newborn and need some entertainment.

What is your least favourite household job? I generally quite enjoy housekeeping and don't mind doing the laundry but I just cannot bear putting clean clothes away. I find it so, so tedious.

I don't have a favourite chore. The least worst is the hoovering.

I have always disliked cooking but my dc killed any tiny joy I ever had in that task years ago so now I absolutely hate it.

Laundry. Again, a job that has to be done day in, day out and the sheer neverending-ness of it just makes me want to jump off a cliff when I think about it. I don't iron because I don't want to voluntarily make the shittiest of shit tasks even more shittier.

Changing the bed which I loathe with a passion (but love the feel of clean new sheets)

Washing windows (which I am useless at)

Removing newly washed clothes from the washing machine. Basically once I've put all the dirty stuff in the washing machine and switched it on, I lose all interest. I need the washing fairies to work some magic. Smile

Cleaning the shower - I am yet to figure out a way to do this without getting in there myself.

Changing the sheets - I now strip the beds and tell DP that I have done half and it’s his turn to do the other half...

Putting laundry away and washing dishes!

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 21/05/2019 20:14

Playing hunt and collect dog poo from the garden
Cleaning the oven
And ironing, but I never do that anyway...

motortroll · 21/05/2019 21:12

Ironing....I don't do it!

I also hate putting the hoover away...so I don't! My friend harry the hover just sits in the lounge with us most of the time lol.

Fwiw I never put anyone else's washing away, just none. Everyone has to do their own though I do help the 5 year old! You're right it is tedious!

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 21/05/2019 21:32

Cleaning the windows inside. I can clean them to within an inch of their life and they look clear as anything. Step back and they're just a mass of smears. I outsource the outside!
Most other things, I don't really mind.

Watto1 · 21/05/2019 21:38

Emptying the food waste caddy in the kitchen. Makes me want to barf 🤢.

I’m quite happy doing laundry. There’s something very satisfying about a washing line full of clothes flapping in the breeze!

Gingerninja01 · 21/05/2019 21:40

Dusting. I really fucking hate dusting.

Knewyouwerewaiting · 21/05/2019 21:40

Mopping the floor.

It would be cleaning the oven if I did it but I don’t.

WidoWanky · 21/05/2019 21:46

Tidying.

I quite enjoy cleaning but having to tidy first does my head in. I have 2 ASD kids. They are both so disorganised and hate being told what to do.😣

ilovebiscuitsandcats · 21/05/2019 22:20

Ironing! I hate it so much I just don't do it Grin

snop · 21/05/2019 22:29

My wadi

snop · 21/05/2019 22:32

My washing basket is never empty even with me doing a wash a day and more at weekends, I hate folding and putting away washing. It's a neverwnf

snop · 21/05/2019 22:32

My washing basket is never empty even with me doing a wash a day and more at weekends, I hate folding and putting away washing. It's a never ending job that's never complete 😬

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 21/05/2019 22:32

I dont change the beds or do the bathrooms

So the regular thing i dislike doing would be either hoovering the sofa or, actually more likely, cleaning the kitchen

largecoffeeplease · 21/05/2019 22:39

@Crazyladee I totally sympathise. We also have an 8 burner and DH is absolutely the world's messiest cook so I have to do it at least twice a week. RAGE.

Gardening...i loathe all of it and wish i hadnt bought a house with a huge garden....it was ok until dh left me 5 years ago...now i have to try and manage house and garden on my own.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 21/05/2019 22:52

Tidying. We have no storage to speak of, so there’s nowhere for anything to go. It just gets moved around. Cleaning around that sort of continual mess is soul destroying.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 21/05/2019 22:52

Dusting, hoovering, dishes

Stravapalava · 21/05/2019 22:53

I always put off doing the ironing and vaccuuming, although it's never as bad as I think it's going to be!

Doyoumind · 21/05/2019 22:54

Doing the housework.

YesQueen · 21/05/2019 22:54

All of it? Grin I often think ah I'll have a good clean today, look out the window and it's glorious sunshine and disappear to ride my horse. It'll wait Blush
Especially dislike ironing and cleaning the bathrooms. I live on my own so TBH when I've cleaned it never looks any different 🤷🏽‍♀️

bellsbuss · 21/05/2019 22:54

Changing the beds, we have a superking and the quilt weighs a ton. Single beds for our 3 younger children piece of piss.

twocats335 · 21/05/2019 22:59

I used to hate cleaning the bathroom but now I've recently had a nice new one fitted (boast boast), it's a joy!
