On a regular basis - loo roll and kitchen towel!

I also get the 4 for £1 hot chocolate sachets to keep at work. While they're not expensive, they're not good value for money!

freshasthebrightbluesky · 20/05/2019 17:06

We don't get them every week but those vivera fake steak things. I've forgotten how much they cost but they're nice and go well in stroganoff.
We also get those Iceland no bull burgers; again, they're expensive but v nice.
Water filters for the Brita jug. 3x 2month ones are good value but cost an arm and a leg!

Landfilly · 20/05/2019 17:07

Wine - Sainsbury's

I get everything else Ocado but their selection of my favourite grape variety is shocking and awfully expensive

So I schlep to Sainsbos for my alcohol Grin

calpoppincalpol · 20/05/2019 17:07

Asda chocolate bars £1.50 each
Dettol kitchen spray £2
Heinz soup in a carton £1.09 each

Kids vitamins( once a month) about £10 total

BikeRunSki · 20/05/2019 17:08

Dorset Cereals muesli
Salmon fillets (not every week)

PrimeraVez · 20/05/2019 17:08

Formula (have just switched from EBF and cannot believe how expensive it is!)

calpoppincalpol · 20/05/2019 17:08

Sorry, I missed the food bit

But vitamins are kinda sorta food ( you do put them in your mouth)

listsandbudgets · 20/05/2019 17:09

Spreadable lurpak - when did it get so bl**dy expensive - in fact butter in general

doodlejump1980 · 20/05/2019 17:09

Chicken breasts. £5.21 today for a two-pack. Wtf?

Pipandmum · 20/05/2019 17:10

I get a side of salmon filet for £7.20 at Tesco most weeks. Sometimes steak filet - that costs about £10-12. Next expensive item is... wine!

Astrid0208 · 20/05/2019 17:10

Formula
Baby food (I know I know I should puree myself but cba)
Wine!

NC2605 · 20/05/2019 17:11

Yep came on to say salmon, other meats and wine!

MustardScreams · 20/05/2019 17:12

Fish usually. Ocado or Sainsbury’s, depending on who has the best offers that week.

blamethecat · 20/05/2019 17:12

Cheese !
Salmon and chicken are fairly pricey but we eat them regularly.
Cat food.

jackparlabane · 20/05/2019 17:12

Innocent smoothies for ds's lunch. He's autistic and won't tolerate any other brand, and it's the only fruit or veg he gets apart from ketchup, so be it. £5 for 8 of them.

Butter keeps going up.

MsMustDoBetter · 20/05/2019 17:12

Fruit - mango, cherries, strawberries etc are very expensive.

Teddybear45 · 20/05/2019 17:12

Lizzie’s muesli. I get it because it’s very low sugar but very expensive. I also eat a lot of fish and though I try to buy discounted it does add up. The most regularly expensive thing I buy is probably butter

ArchieHarrison · 20/05/2019 17:14

parmesan (or grana padano) - not weekly, but regular and ££
Otherwise - skinless / boneless chicken breasts - always free range, sometimes organic.

bluebananababe · 20/05/2019 17:15

Yes lurpak and formula is expensive. Asda butter ( blue container) is cheaper and just as nice. Formula is expensive. They have you over a barrel with it. I was glad when I could stop buying formula.

I love salmon but don't buy it ( can't remember the price) chicken boneless thighs cost about £3.50'for a small pack. We buy it maybe once every two weeks

Chewbecca · 20/05/2019 17:17

Chateaubriand steak from Donald Russell about once a year. I try to buy on special offer so usually around £25. It feeds 3 of us (just).

legolimb · 20/05/2019 17:17

Fresh fish and chicken breasts. I get through a lot.

I'm on a diet which requires me to eat two full meals per day - with three (also protein heavy) snacks.

bluebananababe · 20/05/2019 17:17

@jackparlabane my dc also has autism and quite set in their ways. It's hard when they refuse particular foods.

Babybel Lights & Coke Zero

Stravapalava · 20/05/2019 17:18

@Doodlejump Just buy a whole chicken. It's cheaper than that!
