CuntForThisOne · 20/05/2019 19:04

Decent gin, from Waitrose. About £40 per week.

CakeNinja · 20/05/2019 19:04

Ellie, usually it’s a chateaubriand or a rib or porterhouse joint rather than 2 separate steaks.
We have some brilliant butchers locally and do prefer to shop locally where possible which is why we tend to buy meat, dairy, fruit and veg from the butchers or farm shop.

Borisdaspide · 20/05/2019 19:06

£10 pork belly from the butcher makes a gorgeous 5 Spice Pork belly with enough for egg fried rice the next day.

Other than that, a fab new Korean shop opened a few months ago and I spent about £40 on bits with no regrets!

MaMisled · 20/05/2019 19:07

Halo ice cream x 2 at...I think....£5 a tub. Fresh raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and melon for weekend breakfast. Green and Blacks chocolate.

SleepingIsOverrated · 20/05/2019 19:08

Camembert cheese. The Waitrose one is by far the nicest we've tried, and we've tried TONS. We're a bit obsessed which doesn't help.

inthekitchensink · 20/05/2019 19:12

Slimfast shakes around £8-10 as I often don’t feel like eating and know I need to have something. Meat as it’s not often and has to be free range organic. Nuts & berries are a fortune

CanBlondesWearMustard · 20/05/2019 19:12

Oat milk, its £1.80 per litre for the one we like and we go through about 9 per week that's about £65 a month Sad

IamTheMeg · 20/05/2019 19:14

Proper butter

ReginaGeorgeous · 20/05/2019 19:17

DH is coeliac and his gluten free bread, pasta, biscuits, breaded chicken etc costs a fortune.

AnnPerkins · 20/05/2019 19:19

Gluten free porridge oats. £3.50 for a bag that lasts DH less than a week.

Bear2014 · 20/05/2019 19:19

Those Collective suckies yogurts. Both DC obsessed with them.

IntoValhalla · 20/05/2019 19:20

I’ve actually just worked out how much we spend on DS’s oat milk Blush
It’s a necessity as he’s allergic to cows milk, soya and nuts so many other cheaper alternatives are off limits.
He goes through a carton per day, so that’s around £10 a week for the cheaper brand when I can get it, or £13 for the more expensive brand that’s easier to get hold of Confused
Expensive compared to cows milk or soya milk, but I can’t exactly call it an extravagant splurge product because it’s an essential part of his already very restricted diet Sad

Autumnchill · 20/05/2019 19:21

Azera Coffee. I stock up when it's on offer (currently £2.50 in Tesco)

NorthernRunner · 20/05/2019 19:23

Fairy non bio- husband and dd have very sensitive skin so I can’t switch brands. I usually get the big one (I think it’s 56 washes) so it isn’t a weekly purchase but when I buy it, it’s easily the most expensive item on the shop.

VodselForDinner · 20/05/2019 19:24

The big chocolate florentines from Selfridge’s. £14.99 for a pack of 6.

Bunnylady53 · 20/05/2019 19:26

I don’t buy it every week but smoked salmon. And my wine habit certainly bumps the bill up!

beela · 20/05/2019 19:33

Whatever joint we are having for a Sunday roast. But we always have enough leftovers for at least one more meal.

Wine.

Steak.

All worth it Grin

RB68 · 20/05/2019 19:39

fish and meat most expensive but always look for yellow sticker especially for fish.

Parmesan or other hard italian cheese I get at Lidl much less expensive, also get less well know named cheese and most can't tell the difference

my treat is also berries for breakkie - but they are getting cheaper as 'tis the season

Fantail · 20/05/2019 19:44

I bought saffron the other day.

Almond flour is also expensive.

Motherof3feminists · 20/05/2019 19:49

I've never had a florentine of any kind. I feel deprived.

I love raspberries and bought some from Waitrose last week along with strawberries in the hopes that the quality would be better than other places. Sadly they only lasted a day as was rushing and didn't check the date and I can't stand squishy fruit. I object to the price of fruit especially when it's often so tasteless. I love Fuji apples but can't find them anywhere now.

Rakati · 20/05/2019 19:53

I only shop every month so spend a lot on cheeses etc in one go, but most expensive individual item is probably pizza express pizza, sometimes catch it on offer but if it's not its a fiver.

Tanyaaah · 20/05/2019 19:55

£40 a WEEK on gin?!!

MrsDilligaf · 20/05/2019 19:56

@Motherof3Feminists

You are deprived my love. I'll send you some!!

calpoppincalpol · 20/05/2019 20:01

@VodselForDinner good lord, I thought the meatballs were bad enough

Jsmith99 · 20/05/2019 20:03

DP loves cooking, and he will usually do a roast, fish, steak etc at the weekend with a nice bottle of wine. It’s usually at least £10-15 for the meat and a tenner for the wine.
