boxlikeamarchhare · 19/05/2019 16:19

A big family party, a holiday in August by a beach, my decree absolute, raising money for a local charity by taking part in an endurance sport thing, my back garden bring improved/greener by taking up paving slabs and making borders.

I know what you mean about relentless though, 50 hour weeks and living a life, being a mum, running a house feels relentless on a bad week.

DinosApple · 19/05/2019 17:56

Watching the Chelsea Flower Show on telly this week.
The last (?) episode of Ghosts tomorrow night.
Reading a book I'm half way through.
My parents coming up next weekend for the youngest DC's first holy communion... --But I have to tidy the whole house and organise every one's clothes before I can enjoy the last one.

Bezalelle · 19/05/2019 18:06

elephantoverthehill · 19/05/2019 18:08

GMtoBe · 19/05/2019 18:10

Going on holiday to Wales on Friday. Taking DD to playgroup in the morning. The glass of wine I'll be having when she's in bed tonight. Pay day!

Echobelly · 19/05/2019 18:11

My cousin's wedding next week. I haven't been to a wedding in ages as we're long past most of our mates being married and I don't have a big family, and I do love a wedding.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/05/2019 18:17

My DD getting her Abitur beginning of next month after her teacher when she was 8 told us that "there are always children that get left behind and don't make it". We changed school and she worked incredibly hard towards her exams and around her diagnosis.

Another of my cacti started to blossom. Little yellow flowers I waited 12 years for.

It's finally getting warm Smile

I always make sure we have loads planned in advance to look forward to! I have just been inspired by the beautiful places in the UK thread and have been making some plans for next year. Coming up soon we have planned camping next weekend for bank holiday, a week off for half term and lots of days out and a few days to stay with family, the Capital Summertime Ball and a weekend in London in June and Disneyland Paris at the end of June. Then the kids breaking up for the 6 weeks holidays, our holidays and days out planned for then and DD starting secondary school in September. Then it will be time to start looking forward to October half term, Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas!! I work about a million hours a week so I need lots of good stuff planned for my time off.....

Get some things planned so you can look forward to them OP, they don't have to be expensive just things you love to do.

Chocolategirl79 · 19/05/2019 20:20

Thanks everyone. A huge range of things to think about.
I find it difficult to plan stuff/getting away in advance due to kids sporting commitments. But I definitely need to start thinking about stuff for me before I end up depressed and miserable.
Just had another weekend of bickering and housework before heading back to stressful full time job with very grumpy DH. Feels rubbish at the moment!!

My summer holidays, 2 weeks off. I can't wait. Work has been pretty hard going the last few months, I need a break. Wishing I had taken one of the weeks before the kids stop school though, so I can get a week on my own Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/05/2019 21:50

Couple of nights away at half term.
2 summer holidays, hopefully, although only one of them is booked so far.
A trip to the theatre this week.
Definitely looking forward to Year 11 leaving.
I bought a lemon curd yoghurt in M&S in a little glass jar - am looking forward to eating that tomorrow!
Trying out my new GHDs - bought today and I am very excited to finally have some!

  1. Visiting with my family and going on a motorhome holiday in the Canadian Rockies in July.
  2. Just found out I don't have to do the horrible art history course I flunked out of in order to get my degree in Design. I get to do a creative writing course instead. Now looking forward to the next year rather than dreading it!
  3. I'm looking forward to my peony blossoming 4 years after it was planted.
