Great thread. I like to keep a list of things I am looking forward to, big and small, to keep me going. Have a theatre trip with my mum on Tuesday this week, I am looking forward to going out for a couple of drinks in our village pub on Friday to start the bank holiday weekend (after a full on work week which I know will be tiring), DH’s birthday on Saturday where we are having chocolate fudge cake and a meal with friends, and then next Thursday we go on our road trip to Scotland! First full
week off work since Christmas...

Great thread! I normally slightly dread the return to school / work/ Monday night taxi service for DCs but my friend and I are taking our DDs to the theatre tomorrow night and going for dinner first. Fur anyone reading who lives in London (or I'm sure it will go on tour? then 'everybody's talking about Jamie' is such an uplifting and fun thing to go and see and something really worth looking forward to. I took my mum a couple of months ago and realised how much DD would love it.

Apart from immediate theatre trip.., I v much second the peonies coming out. Plus going to see Hamilton on my DD's birthday and getting a new kitten 🙄

Really looking forward to half term, my DD is with me for this one. We are going camping and I keep day dreaming of her flying her kite on the beach in the sunshine...the dogs barking and going mad (It'll probably drive me crazy in 5 mins!!!!)

VenusClapTrap · 20/05/2019 07:14

My new (first/rainbow) baby arriving, the cream cake I bought for after tea, DH taking me out (rare) for a meal at the weekend, the potential for a little seaside holiday in July - lots of lovely things!

princessspotify · 20/05/2019 18:24

I'm looking forward to reading this months book for a bookclub I've recently joined.
I'm also excited about going to in-laws caravan for the weekend and my parents are coming to stay for a few days in half term. I haven't seen them since Easter.
The big thing I'm looking forward to is how summer holiday to Majorca at the end of July.

Great idea for a thread!

  1. Seeing a work friend back at work tomorrow after him having a week's holiday
  2. Going on holiday to the UK in 3 weeks (we live abroad) and seeing all my UK based friends, and
  3. Watching GOT later Grin

Starting my new job - a complete career change. I am terrified and excited in equal measure I think but feel revitalised by the challenge and new beginnings.

boredboredboredboredbored · 20/05/2019 18:32

Flying to Marrakech on Sunday with my lover whilst the dc spend a week with their Dad (exh btw, I'm not having an affair!). 4 nights in the Medina the 3 nights near the Atlas Mountains. God I need a break Smile

DaphneduM · 20/05/2019 18:34

Early June when my lovely daughter will have her baby. My first grandchild! Moving nearer her by the end of the summer, contracts exchanged on our sale last week.

MiraculousMarinette · 20/05/2019 18:37

Jetting off on my first ever abroad holiday on Monday with my DD, just me and her!

hayser33 · 20/05/2019 18:50

Then a month later we are all going to Cornwall for the week

UbercornsGoggles · 20/05/2019 18:56

Friends coming for dinner. We very rarely have people round and I can't remember the last time I had a conversation with my friend without being interrupted by a toddler every 30 seconds.

TemporaryPermanent · 20/05/2019 19:01

Having a Diet Coke when I get home Blush
Having sex on Wednesday
Having sex on Friday
Seeing friends for good chat on Thursday
Seeing friends for a long walk in the country on 1 June
The relaxation this week of feeling like I'm reasonably up to date on seeing elderly relatives, and that they're all doing as well as possible.

pearldeodorant · 20/05/2019 19:46

I move back to the UK next week and although feel a little apprehensive I'm so excited to spend quality time with my parents, see our beloved family cat and also enjoy some light, warm evenings in the village pub with some good old friends :)

Hiddenaspie1973 · 20/05/2019 22:34

My daughter's operation. Hoping it will rid her of constant, untreatable pain and enable her to walk properly and stand.
Alot rests on this op. Not until July/August though.
