What we in the UK call crisps are called chips in america
What we call chips are call fries
And we have 'French fries' - skinny chips. We also have chunky chips, like you'd get in a pub.
Do they have those on America? Are they also called fries? Or something different?
If not I plan to introduce "English seaside chips" to the states ASAP.

Oh and yes they have fish and chip shops, the chips aren't as floppy as British chip shop chips but thick cut,

And what do you ask for, if you want chips?

The oilyness of it, I think Diana. She said she felt queasy about 1/4 of the way through and ended up leaving half of it. What she did eat came back up.

If I want fish and chips then I ask for fish and chips if that's how it's listed on the menu. A lot of takeaway fish places it'll be a 'fish basket' or similar.

Otherwise I ask for fries.
