If you don’t have an airing cupboard where do you keep your towels?

My new house has no airing cupboard, no shelves or storage in the bathroom. Towels are currently stacked on my bedroom floor for the last month. They need a home. And probably a cull.

Hanging over the bannister or radiator in the bathroom.

Or the floor

BlueSkiesLies · 16/05/2019 16:21

Shelves in wardrobes in bedrooms. Drawers under beds. Those would be typical towel storage places. Chest of drawers on landing. Trunk in bedroom. That kind of thing.

MrsJDornan · 16/05/2019 16:22

I have a storage trunk in the hallway outside the bathroom

We have 2 hand towels, 2 bath towels and 4 beach towels.

Freshly laundered ones are folded and put in an under bed box.

Used ones are hung over the bathroom radiator or on the back of the bathroom door.

No airing cupboard, there kept in a cupboard in the hall.

onemouseplace · 16/05/2019 16:23

Victorian blanket box in our bedroom, along with other linen. Towel overflow is in a deep drawer in one of the DC's rooms.

SneakyGremlins · 16/05/2019 16:24

I only have one that I keep on the back of a chair Grin

hihellohihey · 16/05/2019 16:24

I bought ottoman beds for this reason :)

ILoveMaxiBondi · 16/05/2019 16:25

Ahh, I can fit a towel rail over the radiator in the bathroom. That will take care of some of them. We have no banisters or Landing or space in hallway so it will have to be a box under my bed I think.

We have a shelf similar to this on the wall in the bathroom.

BikeRunSki · 16/05/2019 16:26

Shelves in bathroom. We put some up especially.

dudsville · 16/05/2019 16:26

Our 1930s house was made with closets, one is an airing cupboard. I will never move because of all of this but in storage... can you put something in the hall for bedding and towels? Also, yes, do cull. We havetwo sets for each of us (one to use and one too wash) and guest sets. Nothing else. No random flannels.

SpiderP · 16/05/2019 16:27

Kallax unit in the spare room, but it drives me mad as there's not enough space and it looks really messy so we're getting a cupboard on the landing.

happymummy12345 · 16/05/2019 16:28

We have a glass shelving unit in the bathroom. Towels and flannels go on the bottom few shelves, and toiletries are on the top shelves.
(It looks lovely but it's a pain to clean)

onemouseplace · 16/05/2019 16:29

We had something like this www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-large-steel-towel-stand/p3431181 in our old bathroom for towels in use. I've seen ones that are like ladders as well, which are a good use of space.

butterwithtoast · 16/05/2019 16:29

Rolled up in a nice basket in the bathroom.

fourquenelles · 16/05/2019 16:29

Towels in use on heated towel rack in bathroom.
Spare towel on hook on bathroom door.
Guest towels rolled up in wicker basket in bathroom.
Dog towels on hook by back door.
Holiday and swimming towels in Ottoman in bedroom.

puma84 · 16/05/2019 16:30

Our bathrooms downstairs. No airing cupboard (well there is but it's filled top to bottom with a huggeeee boiler) are towels are on the towel rail radiator thingy and if the don't fit there are folded and left on the floor next to it. Towels don't last 5 minutes in this house so there not on the floor for long probably an hour 🙈

ILoveMaxiBondi · 16/05/2019 16:35

Oooh! I was thinking if would have to be a shelf on the wall but I like this idea!! Thank you.

Heated towel rail in the bathroom

Tighnabruaich · 16/05/2019 16:37

We have ours rolled up in a white wicker basket in the bathroom. The ones in use hang on the towel rail.

IABUQueen · 16/05/2019 16:37

Ottoman in bedroom. It’s for towels and linen.

Tighnabruaich · 16/05/2019 16:41

In the drawer under the bed until needed. The ones in use are kept on each person's radiator.

RomanyQueen1 · 16/05/2019 16:43

Towel rail in the bathroom, on the line to dry, or in our rooms.
