How many towels per person!

I'm in a mode of decluttering. We have bundles of towels beyond their best. I don't want to replace all of them.
So I'm trying to work out how many towels we actually need each?

I guess it depends how often you have a clean one. I have 2 complete sets of towels (bath, hair, bath mats, hand) for me and DH. The DC have a set each.

I have a few extra hand towels.

2 sets each plus spares for swimming is what I was thinking was needed.

Two bath towels per person. One in use and one in the wash/airing cupboard. Several hand towels depending on number of bathrooms and how often you like them changed.

Yes plus swimming/beach towels.

One each of:

Bath
Hair
Hand
Undercarriage
Flannel
Bathmat
Jacuzzi
Steam room
Sauna
Pool (2 each)

Really, two bath towels each, two hair towels for me, four hand towels for the bathroom (on a rota, not at the same time!).

We've kept some knackardy old ones for midnight pukes, accidental wees (child), and washing the dog.

I have mountains of towels at least 20 bath sheets and more bath towels, there's no his and hers or kids. We just have a clean towel when we want one

Local animal charities might want towels if you want to give any away, just an idea!

We have 2 main bath towels per person, plus another 2 each which are still good but a bit older and we never really use anymore.

Heaps of beach/pool towels.

I would guess two bath towels each, at least a couple of hand towels, a couple of bath mats and a swimming/beach towel each.

We also have a box of old ones in the cupboard for the dogs.

What are hair towels?

We have two hand towels for downstairs toilet so we swap when we wash.

In en-suite we have two bath sheets and two hand towels - DH and I share so one set is clean ready to go on and we wash them once a week.

Same in kids bathroom but there is also a box with swimming towels - we have two bath sheets for DH and I and the kids have a swim towel each then there is a random Disney bath sheet that I can't bare to throw out as there is nothing wrong with it. I will usually use that as my swim towel. But all the swim towels are usually used by dd which she will leave on whichever floor she fancies after using 😡

We just had a towel. I have never lived in a home where everyone had their own towels. Perhaps I am behind the times!!

2 guest towels the fact we had random extra towels around when DS2 was a surprise home birth means we dont have many extra now

I just have a huge basket of towels in the bathroom and people help themselves. Maybe 4 big bath sheets, 6 large towels, 4 hair towels and a few hand towels plus 2 bath mats and then small basket with wash cloths on because I use them to take off my make up.

And here was me envisaging towels made from hair. I've always found a regular bath towel sufficed for hair as well. Whaddya know.

In what way are hair towels different from other towels?

Smaller and the right size to wrap round your head.

I couldn’t stand a huge bath towel on my head.
