What foods are like "crack" to you?

For me it's peanuts. Any nuts really but salted KPs in particular, I literally cannot stop eating them once I get going. I have to ration them to weekends only.

And tiger bread. I could stand at the kitchen side with a bread knife and some butter and make serious headway in eating a whole loaf if I let myself.

What foods are like this for you?

Cake. Specifically custard slices.

HeronLanyon · 13/05/2019 02:53

Pasta - remarkable amounts !
DAirylea or other triangles - only buy perhaps twice a year. I don’t think I have ever not eaten whole round on crackers I’m very short time. Sometimes no cracker !

SimplySteveRedux · 13/05/2019 03:51

AlbertWinestein · 13/05/2019 03:58

Sweet chili pistachio nuts and Tutti Fruttis.

7salmonswimming · 13/05/2019 04:12

@managedmis

That’s one third of the reason it tastes so good!

To be slightly serious, you can really only eat one small slice (maybe 6-7 forkfuls) at a sitting. It doesn’t feel heavy or filling or sweet or fattening when you’re eating it. But you can taste the sin. I buy one slice every 6 months or so, and share it with my two kids. It’s plenty. But just so, so enjoyable Blush Grin

DoubleNegativePanda · 13/05/2019 05:05

Bread and butter
Pasta
Nutty Bars
Bread and butter pickles...I could eat a whole jar.

HistoriaTrixie · 13/05/2019 05:44

Mountain Dew. I never have it in the house because I will drink it alllllllll and then feel gross. Only ever have it as a drink on long car trips etc.

notso · 13/05/2019 06:32

Crisps. Plain, beef or if Pringles sour cream and onion.

Cherry vodka from the polish shop with proper coke it is scrumptious, like cherry coke but a bazillion times better.

The crust from a proper loaf of white bread with thick butter. My Mum brings me 4 loaves a fortnight from this amazing bakery she goes to. I have been known to cut off all the crusts and scoff them before freezing the rest of the loaves.

Mashed potato and gravy.

Bacon.

Root beer.

Aldi marshmallow brownie bombs.

BillywilliamV · 13/05/2019 06:36

Mrs Tilly’s tablet!

boxlikeamarchhare · 13/05/2019 06:39

Mine is Jacksons white bloomer bread with salted butter. I rarely eat bread as it gives me stomach ache, but when I do I always eat more than I should.

sashh · 13/05/2019 06:42

Jaffa cakes. I tately buy them because I eat them by the packet.

My carer refers o my home made shortbread as 'crack', I sometimes 'threaten' to make it to shut him up.

SolitudeAtAltitude · 13/05/2019 06:57

McDonalds milkshakes
Mr Whippy
Anything chocolate, esp. Maltesers and Minstrels
All haribo, esp jelly babies
Marshmallows
All crisps
Percy pigs before they became vegan

I almost never buy any of the above.

And if I do, DH and teen boys pounce on them like a flock of seagulls, so it's gone in minutes Grin

We are not a fat family...but we ought to be!

Imleavingonajetplane · 13/05/2019 07:28

M&S version of cheesy whotsits. Can barely drive past our local petrol station which sells them.

RunSweatLaughAndLatte · 13/05/2019 07:33

Crisps, biscuits and Kinder Beunos

Shelbybear · 13/05/2019 07:59

Nuts, crisps (esp Pringles) and er pickles, the chippy style pickles that are all salty n vinegar mmmm. Sadly my baby bump does not like the pickles and I feel ill after I've had some. I'm on a pickle ban 😫

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 13/05/2019 07:59

Only chocolate. I just love it and can eat tons in one go.

cookiechomper · 13/05/2019 08:05

Hoummus and chocolate.

LittleAndOften · 13/05/2019 08:55

Jaffa cakes. I have no self-control around these orangey discs of deliciousness. I eat the whole packet in one go Blush

bookworm14 · 13/05/2019 08:59

Sushi, barbecue flavour Pringles and M&S piri piri mayonnaise. Not all at the same time.

whatsthecraic91 · 13/05/2019 09:02

Crisps, Chinese takeaway, dominos cookies

caperplips · 13/05/2019 09:16

Ohh...just what I needed on a Monday morning Grin

I have quite a few things I could over indulge in if I let myself:

Very fresh, soft, plastic white bread with a generous spread of real salted butter and raspberry jam - I could easily scarf 4 slices of this whilst making the actual dinner / lunch. But I try not to let myself.

I also LOVE the same bread and butter with tayto cheese and onion crisps made into a sandwich.

Or similarly the same bread and butter with chip shop chips, loads of salt and vinegar...

Or made into a bacon sandwich...

Or a sausage sandwich...

I LOVE chips of any description and can eat FAR too many of them. I would eat them every day if I could.

Potatoes and bread are my main weaknesses it seems. Closely followed by red wine.

I love cake too but could take or leave biscuits, DH is the opposite.

Chinese takeaway I can gorge on too.

Why is life so unfair that so many delicious things exist and yet we have to restrict ourselves in order to be healthy!
