I messaged a friend yesterday to ask if her DD was free to play tomorrow. She replied promptly with ‘I’ve no idea lol!’ I haven’t replied but I’m stewing over the rudeness of it.

id never reply to an invitation like that!

i wouldn't bother with them again.

They’re just not that into you

whitehalleve · 11/05/2019 21:47

Nope. It's kind of a reply to put you off. I'd take the hint.

SpeckofStardust · 11/05/2019 21:52

Of course it’s rude. What happened to having a little common courtesy? I can’t believe some of these replies.

A simple ‘I’ll check and get back to you” or even ‘no sorry she’s busy’ isn’t asking a lot is it?

I’d text back ‘I’ll take that as a no.” then move on, OP.

Are she and Dad together? I've messaged this sometimes (albeit with his mobile number and an explanation I'm child free this weekend)

I have to admit that sometimes if I am very busy and I get a text message, I sometimes answer with hurried and poorly thought out messages that could be read as brusk and negative to the recipient. It isn't meant the way it sounds. But on the other hand, if she always replies like this, then that is a different matter.
