What would be your perfect present?

I have a significant birthday coming up, and dm has asked me what I would like present wise. I would love something that I will treasure forever, or an experience.

I don’t wear much jewellery, I have a decent watch.

Any ideas?

A day of my husband’s time without any children

LonelyTiredandLow · 11/05/2019 17:32

All expenses paid around the world cruise with dd. Never been on a cruise before but for some reason recently lacking in confidence about travel, so this would be a perfect mix of independence and possibility of some company for both of us.

Failing that I'd like someone to properly de-weed and membrane/cement whatever the hell I need my driveway once and for all.

Or (gets carried away) I'd actually love someone to pay for a cleaner once a week.

Oooh, or a personal shopper for a new capsule wardrobe.

OK, i'll stop now Grin

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 11/05/2019 17:32

(Oh god, sorry, read the OP ).
I have a day watch and a more jewellery-like occasion watch (to cover my watch tan line). Something to think about if you like watches?

beenhereages1 · 11/05/2019 17:33

I'd like some natural professional photos taken of my children and the dog. In a forest with bluebells ideally

MagpieTree · 11/05/2019 17:43

Hmm I do not want a washing machine Grin

I’m thinking maybe a fine dining tasting menu with wine flight.

Or a picture.

Art - something you love which will give you pleasure every time you look at it . That’s what I’ve requested for my birthdays for the last few years . They make me smile every day .

Purpletigers · 11/05/2019 17:47

Or a piece of beautiful furniture .

MagpieTree · 11/05/2019 17:53

@Purpletigers I like your thinking.

What about something you'd like but would never buy yourself? Something that won't age as time goes on like a nice bag or a leather jacket?

A nice piece of wall art that you can keep forever?

An experience that you can remember forever?

Are there any hobbies you'd like to take up? For example, a good camera if you'd be interested in learning photography as it's something you could get a lot of use out of?

Would be interested to know what you go for in the end!

MagpieTree · 11/05/2019 18:14

I did think of a bag, but I have so many already.

Definitely like the idea of a picture. I have a space in mind but would need to find the right piece.

fedup21 · 11/05/2019 18:21

I’d go for a piece of jewellery-a necklace or ring. If you don’t wear jewellery, though, what about shoes or tickets to a show?
