I found one this morning. I thought I'd be at least thirty before one appeared, but I'm only 26! When did others first get one?

Some of my friends v young have been dying for decades. Early / mid 20s.

maidenover · 05/05/2019 17:45

38/39 when the first one appeared, I’m mid-40s and still have very few. My mum is in her 70s and isn’t particularly grey and still gets highlights put in her hair!!

The lack of grey and lack of stretch marks in pregnancy are two things I am immensely grateful to have inherited from her.

Mummyshark2018 · 05/05/2019 17:46

Mid-late twenties I reckon!

I was 11 . i panicked ! 😱😱

TrashPanda · 05/05/2019 17:51

About 13 or 14. I have got very dark hair naturally so they show up quite a lot. I'm nearly 30 now and they are very obvious especially in my parting. I made a decision quite early on that I'm not going to colour my hair, with such dark hair and numerous greys regrowth would be obvious and upkeep would be regularly needed, I barely get my hair cut annually so colouring every 6 weeks is laughable!

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 05/05/2019 17:52

Spotted my first one after falling pregnant - so was 31. They've appeared more rapidly in the past 6 months (now 34)

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 05/05/2019 17:53

None so far on my head at 44

I do have them 'elsewhere' Blush

witchy89 · 05/05/2019 17:53

I've always had a tiny streak for as long as I can remember, probably since 14? It's slowly got bigger as I've got older and now at age 30 I have a sizeable patch at the front of my head, think Rogue from x-men! I wouldn't mind but it has a different texture to normal hair, it's very frizzy! I've noticed the odd one popping up over the rest of my head too over the last few years.

SleepingIsOverrated · 05/05/2019 17:54
  1. I've got really dark hair and seem to be waking up with more each day now. I'm 31.
DramaAlpaca · 05/05/2019 17:56

None yet, I'm 54. DM is 83 & only has a sprinkling so I must take after her.

PassMeTheWine · 05/05/2019 17:58

fussychica · 05/05/2019 17:59

20s - now am 37 and it's suddenly became much worse recently!
I dye dark but it doesn't help, as it seems the dyed hair turns whit... I sonehow always thought they grow out white. Any tips?

PlumCakeChica · 05/05/2019 18:13

45, a couple at the temples. At first I thought my hair was going blonde Blush

AhhhHereItGoes · 05/05/2019 18:21

23 I think.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 05/05/2019 18:23

MadAboutWands · 05/05/2019 18:25

In my early 40s.
I was gutted, my mum didn’t get any until much longer and even now at 75yo, she still isn’t fully grey, just a tinge of dark grey Shock

TakenForSlanted · 05/05/2019 18:27

I'm 37 and don't have any. My mum is 62 and has a few faint strands now. Her mum died at 82 and was still not fully grey.

Regrettably, our genetic luck stops at eye bags.
