What gets you up in the morning?

Music wise?
Used to listen to Chris Evans on radio 2 and did switch to virgin with him but he's too 'me, me, me'.
Can't get on with Zoe Ball and her squeaky recorders and habit of calling every female a lovely lady.
Radio 4 is just too highbrow for a gentle intro into the new day.
So what do you suggest? I've got a Sonos system so music floats between the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen so I need something that is upbeat enough to get me out of bed but not too manic.
Suggestions please?

My child shouting Mummy. It’s not always up beat but it always works and I can’t press snooze.

If Zoe Ball annoys me I switch to 6 Music or just watch BBC Breakfast.

Radio 4 + pets does it for me

I'm not really listening to the radio, as I'm busy, just the odd snippet.

Children waking me up is a distant memory but on occasional weekends I'm woken at 5 by the thudding of grandchildren's feet as they rush into my bedroom. It's a lovely sound when it's not everyday!

I put on Heart when Jenni Falconer presents early in the morning. I occasionally switch over to Vanessa Feltz on Radio 2 which I also quite like.

DH has Radio2 and the odious Vanessa Feltz (who irritates me more than is strictly rational)
This either forces me out of bed or I go back to sleep if I'm on lates.

5Live for me, its talk rather than the inane Chris Evans/Zoe Ball chat but not as highbrow as R4. I can't be doing with music that early in the day TBH.

i have radio 2 on so quietly you dont really notice, hope my brain will get used to Zoe.

I've actually gone back to radio 1 since Chris Evans moved. Like you I tried his virgin show and didn't like it and tried zoe ball and didn't like her. I've preferred Matt and Mollie on radio 1 breakfast over the last 2 weeks, but they are just covering.

Otherwise, I have a playlist on spotify called cheerful music and that has put me in a great mood this morning.

I normally quite like Zoe Ball but they need to bin the show and tell thing. I haven’t had a coffee by this point in the morning and my own children would be getting on my nerves so I certainly don’t want to listen to some random child singing. It’s just toe curlingly cringe worthy.

You could borrow my dog. She thinks she's an opera singer. It's enough to wake the dead.

She sang a lovely aria (so she thought) at 6.30 this morning.

I don't listen to music/radio in a morning but my alarm tone is Out of Control by Darude. It was the song that was playing in the car on the way to our first date 17 years so DH downloaded it for me. Makes getting woken up that little bit nicer ❤
