It's that time again - What's for dinner today?

Afternoon all you lovely people,

I need some food inspiration. It's been a slammed week at work, I am leaving the office in 10 minutes and need some dinner inspirations please....

I cook homemade curry (we're an indian family) most days including, rice, chutney's and chapatti's and while we love the food, we're bored! Or at least I am....

So inspire me and tell me what you're having for dinner! My children aren't fussy eaters and we don't have any restrictions in terms of what we can eat.

Thank you in advance you beauties!

I used the word 'inspire' a lot - It's Friday and I'm shattered! Grin

Chilli Con Carne with rice & tortilla chips

findingmyfeet12 · 03/05/2019 17:16

Fish finger sandwiches and fries or potato wedges.

We're too tired to bother cooking anything.

We are having homemade chips, peri peri chicken and vegetables. DS is having the same but with chicken sausages because he won’t eat chicken except in sausage form.

nobodyputsbabyinthecornor · 03/05/2019 17:18

Chinese take away and a bottle (maybe 2!) of wine 🙃

Lwmommy · 03/05/2019 17:18

Friday night is pizza and garlic bread . On a tray 15 minutes in the oven, done and delicious

BellMcEnd · 03/05/2019 17:19

I feel your pain. I’m not feeling very inspired tonight plus it’s been a long hard week and I’m working tomorrow. So, fish cakes, oven sweet potato chips and salad. Not very exciting!

foxessocks · 03/05/2019 17:20

We were meant to be having home made pizza but we have run out of flour whoops. So dh and dd have gone to buy ready made pizzas instead as we can't be bothered now! Grin

Jolonglegs · 03/05/2019 17:22

Mushroom pie recipe fom the Guadian the weekend before last..

Dottydoodoo · 03/05/2019 17:26

One of those huge sourdough pizzas from Aldi (spicy Italian one) with salad for me and chips and salad for DH and DS. It’s been a long day and I don’t have the energy for anything else!

stucknoue · 03/05/2019 17:27

Who knows, haven't been shopping, thinking on in insisting on a takeaway

FrenchyQ · 03/05/2019 17:32

Venison sausages and mashed potato

DM1209 · 03/05/2019 17:32

Oh I feel it for those of us at the end of a hard week, I really do. It's times like this I'd love to magic up a food fairy, unfortunately in our home that's me!

All of your suggestions sound so good, I now can't decide.... what it is to be a child and not have to worry about such brain aching domestic issues....

Lots of wine and chocolates for everyone!

I have 3 dinners left from this week's meal planning to choice from: ginger beef stir fry, chicken piccata and Mexican style cottage pie. Right now, it looks like a beans on toast kind of evening.

Hoppinggreen · 03/05/2019 17:35

Child con lentils with tortilla wraps and sour cream
Dd is a veggie and we dont eat a lot of meat

booksandcaffeine · 03/05/2019 17:36

Nothing. I had a footlong from Subway earlier so that's filled me.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 03/05/2019 17:39

Asparagus soup.

Xenadog · 03/05/2019 17:41

Well we are having homemade veggie curry with daal and bhajias but then realised this is the last thing you want.

If you fancy a quick tea go for fajitas - easy and a crowd pleaser.

bluechameleon · 03/05/2019 17:43

Chinese-style salmon with stir fried vegetables and either rice or noodles, I'll let the rest of the family decide. DS1 doesn't like salmon so he can have leftover sausages or I'll do him some fish fingers.

IndigoSpritz · 03/05/2019 17:46

Boeuf bourguignon.

UsernameTaken76 · 03/05/2019 17:46

Fully loaded Cajun chicken burgers with baked Cajun onion rings. I also have some potato smilies in and I might throw a few of those on the plate as well. Followed by sticky toffee pudding with sticky toffee ice cream for me and peanut butter ice cream for DH. Plus red wine.

I’ve been off all day so I’ve just had a soak in the bath currently have Prosecco while waiting on DH to come home.

ImNotHappyaboutitPauline · 03/05/2019 17:46

We're having spicy veg and halloumi fajitas with guacamole, salsa, potato wedges and salad.

Cod baked in parcels in the oven with steamed spring greens and carrots. Not very exciting but it's quick and I've managed to resist the lure of Domino's 💪🏼

Nuttyaboutnutella · 03/05/2019 17:51

We were supposed to have sticky mango chicken with rice and salad. But, I'm 37 weeks pregnant, having dreadful backache, exhausted and dealing with a cranky overtired toddler all day. Sooooo:
He's currently eating fish fingers, chips and beans
DP will probably have a bowl of cereal and beans on toast
No idea what I'm having, don't feel like anything. Maybe a pot noodle?? I also have lots of melon here that needs eating and I'm in the mood for so could be toast and fruit. I haven't got much of an appetite today, just want to go to bed.
