The reason is you by Hooberstank- hugely significant when I was circling the drain of post natal depression.

Groves by Benjamin Francis Leftwich- simply beautiful and devastating.

BillywigSting, the lyrics touch me because they capture exactly my feelings about losing that childhood magic and becoming comfortably numb.... just my take on it.

GodDammitAmy · 03/05/2019 01:54

Hothouse Flowers If You Go, I've got it as an earworm now and it's enough to make me sob. It's so beautiful and passionate and sad.
And Frank Turner Polaroid Picture. I've lost so many people I love over the last decade.

So in the stillness of the moment
Make sure you take a Polaroid picture
And keep it with you forever to
Remind yourself that everything changes
But there was this one time
Man there was this one time
When things were okay

MyBlueMoonbeam · 03/05/2019 01:57

Touch me in the morning - Diana Ross

Reminds me of a heartbreaking time in my life when I thought I'd lost the love of my life to someone else - eventually it all came good & we married but the song takes me back to the agony I felt for weeks.

MyBlueMoonbeam · 03/05/2019 01:59

Why is it that we torture ourselves by listening to sad music when we are feeling crap already? 🤔

AuldJosey · 03/05/2019 01:59

Thank you 😊

BillywigSting · 03/05/2019 07:32

I listen to sad songs when I need a good cry but can't.

There is some sort of science to why we feel better after crying, something about cerotonin being released I think

happypotamus · 03/05/2019 08:41

GoddammitAmy Excellent username! I was going to add Tell Tales Signs to my list. I cried when Frank sang it live! It's not so much that it's a sad song, I just relate to it all too much. And, yes, to Polaroid Picture and Long Live The Queen. If I think too much when listening to them, they make break my heart too.

GodDammitAmy · 03/05/2019 09:15

To be fair, when it comes to Frank the list goes on doesn't it? YY to Long Live The Queen, and also Redemption, Jet Lag, Nights Become Days...
