Goodbye my lover James blunt

Aebj · 02/05/2019 13:53

Run away train - soul asylum
Played a lot when I did camp America. I’ve never been in such a happy place as I was then. It always reminds me of that time . Took years for me to listen to the song after.

Thanks for the reminder about ‘ you’ll never walk alone’ goosebumps. I remember watching Hillsbourgh on tv

^^ wild horses by Susan Boyal

MyCatHatesEverybody · 02/05/2019 14:10

Human by The Killers and The Man Who Can't Be Moved by The Script - both songs were on the radio at work a lot around the time my dad was dying. My head goes straight back to that time in my life the second I hear them.

To Face the Truth by Pet Shop Boys - all my teenaged angst about unrequited love is wrapped up in that song.

Bonnie Raitt’s Guilty

Yes baby, I've been drinking,
and I shouldn't come by I know
But I found myself in trouble darling,
and I had no place else to go
...

It takes a whole lot of medicine,
for me to pretend to be somebody else.

Slipping through my fingers ABBA. Makes me ball my eyes out, thinking of when my three DC were little and I was so afraid of them growing up and away!

BobbyGentry · 02/05/2019 14:12

shouldn't come by no more

Sad Cafe - Everyday Hurts

tenbob · 02/05/2019 14:24

Dry your Eyes by the Streets because it was a sound track to a break up

Wires by Athlete, because my friend had a very prem baby at the same time that came out, and living through her daily worry was heartbreaking

Stars, which is an obscure Nelly Furtado album track, but utterly beautiful. It was on a spotify playlist at the time my son was stillborn, and is 'our song'. I love it, but I sob whenever I hear it

tenbob · 02/05/2019 14:25

From stars:
You're a part of me.
You're in every breath that I breathe.
And every step forward that I take
And then I take a step backwards
If I don't see your face?
You're a part of me.
You're in every song that I sing
And every bird that sings to me.
And this is what I dream to be real.
This is my reality.
There are so many songs
In the people's faces.
Everyone could be yours
But they're not.

nannyplummyarse · 02/05/2019 14:31

And she's singing live. What a voice!

MadCap · 02/05/2019 14:38

So many Bonnie Raitt songs. I love her. Angel from Montgomery is my ultimate sad song.

The Drugs Don't Work by the Verve makes me ugly cry.

DGRossetti · 02/05/2019 14:48

Medical science could use this as a test for death - if you don't get something in your eye - you're a goner ....

Forgot Bird Song.

Sewrainbow · 02/05/2019 15:28

Blue pastures - James, apparently about a person who wanted to die so they went out sleep in the snow.

Chariots of fire - the vangelis version and ultravox vienna do the weird tingle down my spine thing.

Pictures of you by the cure and the one before it on the disintegratin album.

Yellow and fix you - Coldplay

This is how it feels by inspiral carpets made me cry when struggling with depression before meds kicked in

SleepingStandingUp · 02/05/2019 15:30

Wires by Athlete

Cocolapew · 02/05/2019 15:37

Nothing Compares To You Sinead O'Connor.
Sometimes It Snows In April Prince, I'm a massive Prince fan. I haven't been able to listen to Sometimes It Snows since he died though.
Sonnet by The Verve, it was always on when I was doing the nightfeeds with DD1.
Run by Leona Lewis, the Snow Patrol version doesn't have the same effect.
Wild Horses by Susan Boyle.
I Am I Said and Stones by Neil Diamond

Lastbustowhitehawk · 02/05/2019 15:49

@LadyOfTheCanyon we played that at my dad's funeral as he was a huge Fairport fan, such a heartbreakingly beautiful song.

MollysLips · 02/05/2019 16:46

@wanderings

I googled the car carol. About two minutes later, my son came running into the room to check I was ok, as he'd heard my loud, sudden, uncontrollable sobbing.

Then I let him watch it too, and he was in pieces. The line, "Dear cat, wake up, we are saved" wrecked both of us.

😭 😭 😭

Booklover123 · 02/05/2019 16:55

Everybody,s changing by Keane ,gets me every time!

JudyDenchsBloomers · 02/05/2019 17:15

The Scientist by Coldplay - played on the morning of my boyfriend's funeral.

Who wants to live forever by Queen.

FiremanKing · 02/05/2019 17:27
