Worst dates ever

ThunderOnlyHappens · 01/05/2019 16:36

Watched a bit of 'First Dates' and it reminded me of some odd dates I've been on.

1)The guy who cried at dinner because he kissed his dog
2) the guy who got his calculator out to work out my half of dinner
3) the guy who turned up wearing a floor length leather coat and who told me his job was in 'advertising'-he meant he was a leaflet dropper Grin.

I stopped dating after this for a while because they all happened in the space of a few months!

Tell me yours, currently essay writing and need a break/distraction....

*While eating, he told me that he was a teacher, and that he's had an affair with one of his students - but it's ok, as she looked over 16. WTF?!?

I told him that it's irrelevant how old she looked, he was in a position of authority and what he did was wrong, but he was having none of it and started arguing, still whilst chewing the scampi which was flying out of his mouth*

Surely this bloke must have been doing this as some sort of stupid dare or something? Or had some kind of agenda? I cannot imagine having so little self awareness to behave like this.

I was 17. We met in a pub and had a brilliant time. I was a smoker (in the days where you were allowed to smoke in the pub) and left my fag packet on the table whilst I went to the toilet.

Next day, I went out of school with my mates for a smoke. My date had written swear words in pencil on every single one of my cigarettes. Fuck, cunt, bastard, bollocks. Shock

It's Western Asia

ctrlalt · 03/05/2019 14:42

I don't get the cigarette thing either lol.

My worst date wasn't as bad as any of these. We went to an Asian restaurant and he kept calling the food 'yummy'. Came time to pay and he insisted on paying but then said quite aggressively 'you'll pay next time'.

I stupidly kept in contact with him even though I didn't really like him. He was a complete dick over text too, I eventually just blocked him.

About 25 years ago I met a bloke for a date who ranted for about an hour non-stop about how he hated the police. I was training to be a judge.

iklboo · 03/05/2019 15:11

The guy who told me I would have to convert to Catholicism when we got married. On our first date.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I was lonely but when he wouldn't stay over because he was going to confession early to be absolved of the sin of sex out of wedlock I binned him.

NameUserChange · 03/05/2019 16:38

The guy who lifted an arse cheek and farted on date number 3. At dinner. No reaction from him at all. There was no date 4.

NameUserChange · 03/05/2019 16:47

Just remembered another one! Age 17 and in a club...kissed a bloke and swapped numbers. He phoned me at about 2am and we had an awkward (I couldn't quite remember what he looked like Blush) chat. He then told me he had children etc and was being up front about it but would like to take me on a date. I said I didn't really feel old enough to date someone with kids but would think about it. Rather than taking the hint, he bombarded me with texts and phone calls (that I freaked out and ignored). In the end my friend (with my permission) text him and told him I was known for this terrible behaviour and he had a lucky escape. He then sent me a message telling me had been warned about my terrible behaviour and it was my loss! ConfusedNever heard from him again.

You know when you think back and you wonder why you didn't deal with things differently?! I was such an idiot. I should have just told him straight.

VictoriaBun · 03/05/2019 17:03

I've told this one before. Went on a date with someone who was in a well known ( local only) band. He was ok but no real spark. He went on for a kiss then went to the bar to get drinks. I felt I had something in my mouth, looked at it, it was a ' weird ' looking thing. He came back, I looked at him and saw he had an area around his mouth that was a bit red. Realised in my mouth had been a scab ! Envy

Omg!!
I went on a date with someone from IT. He was so boring and tried to explain some computer issues to me that I still have no idea about... I climbed out the toilet window and left him there...

Date 1 - I turn up to meet the guy in a pub. I offer him a drink but no he's only having water. My opening line 'so hows your week been?'

He says 'my week has been shit because my how life is fucked up shit. I walked out of my job and lost everything. I've let myself down and my whole family down.'

Shortly after he walked out saying 'sorry, I should never have thought I could come on a date.'

I finished my half a lager on my own and was on my way home within 25 minutes.

AsleepAllDay · 03/05/2019 23:56

The one who ran out after dinner. I was in the loo for five minutes max!
