What's the cutest thing your DC says that's wrong?

My DS can't get his head round the word she, he always says her. For example when my DD is crying, DS always says 'her is angry' or 'does her need a clean nappy?' So sweet!

I'd love to hear yours 😊

Keep coming back to this thread and remembering more. My son, who is now 36, once came running in to tell me about a widers speb in the garden. It was, of course, a spider web, but he couldn't say it properly for ages.

Darth Vados (Barbados), Hula Poops (Hula Hoops)

Aged 3 and 3/4

fblake · 01/05/2019 19:42

These are just what I need after a pretty rubbish day! So funny! 🤣

DD (just 2) is adamant that cats are “minaus”. She also struggles to say her Ss at the moment, so sits on a “tool” and eats with a “poon”

christmasgeek · 01/05/2019 19:49

Knockers - binoculars

I still refer to them as knockers even though he’s learnt to say the proper word , it’s just stuck!

Ewanthescreamsheep · 01/05/2019 19:55

oh and a wood louse is a wooden mouse 😁

Osquito · 01/05/2019 20:03

DS is nearly 5 and still says “Bubbadum” for bubblegum - though he recently asked, very slowly and carefully, for “digit jams... gidgit jams...” which turned out to be midget gems.
He also pronounces ‘hut’ in a really odd way (think: hygge). Hmm

Mooey89 · 01/05/2019 20:06

My five year old calls his curls his ‘curlols’
I just can’t bring myself to correct him, it’s too cute.

Mooey89 · 01/05/2019 20:09

Oh and just remembered we had ‘missmus’ instead of Christmas for a long time

fblake · 01/05/2019 20:11

@Ewanthescreamsheep for some reason DS calls woodlice antlers?! No idea why!

OP posts:
Galvantula · 01/05/2019 20:21

DS2 refuses to believe that the word is remember not bee-rember. ?? He's 7 but has been sticking with this for a while.

Galvantula · 01/05/2019 20:24

He's also the DC that caked a clock a cock for a very long time. Blush

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 01/05/2019 20:28

Along similar lines... When DD1 was 3, she managed to mix up reindeers and kangaroos in her mind. She was adamant that kangaroos pulled Santa's sleigh and she called any reindeer we saw kangaroos. Apparently they look alike...
It wasn't until a couple of years later we realised how alike our singing reindeer decoration looked like a kangaroo.

flowerycurtain · 01/05/2019 20:34

Little knitty room for the utility room.

I LOVE 💕 It when she says this.

TulipsTulipsTulips · 01/05/2019 20:35

“Unicorn” instead of “uniform”. So cute

BogstandardBelle · 01/05/2019 20:38

My youngest, now 8, used to call water “diddle diddle” because of the noise it made coming out of the tap :-) it caught on for our whole family... to this day my (childfree) sister and her partner ask each other if they’d like “a wee diddle diddle” in the evening, though TBF they usually mean gin rather than water :-))

Fatted · 01/05/2019 20:40

Teeny little Ninja turtles - teenage mutant Ninja turtles
Chicken spots - chicken pox

DS1 was talking about a sport called Gun-ee-nuss for ages. Eventually we worked out when the rugby was on one day with the Guinness advert across the pitch what he was on about.

DS2 calls Mo Salah from Liverpool Momo Salad.

Stroan · 01/05/2019 20:42

DD can say really, but won't! She replaces it with very, except she can't say v so says berry instead. In lots of cases, very works fine as a replacement for really. In some, it's just super cute.

"Mummy, I berry, berry want to give you a cuddle"

She hardly has any other mispronounciations now which makes me a little sad. Just Cemote Retrol left I think.

villainousbroodmare · 01/05/2019 20:49

'Boojadigger' is a bulldozer, also applied to a toddler sibling ploughing through his Lego or whatever. Lots of dropped s sounds, resulting in 'cool' for school, 'nack' for snack, 'poon' for spoon.
I really like 'motorlemon' for watermelon and 'lebbebebbles' for vegetables. And for some reason anything small is referred to as tiny which is endearing.

villainousbroodmare · 01/05/2019 20:50

I also love "Cuggle me!"
And "Up me" for "Pick me up".

VoyageInTheDark · 01/05/2019 20:57

DD is 19mo and says 'gay boos' when she wants grapes and blueberries

Bringmewineandcake · 01/05/2019 20:59

Muddy cuddles 🥰

Gooseygoosey12345 · 01/05/2019 21:03

Nundy for dummy, love it! There's a few as he's still not even 2 but that's my favourite

goldpendant · 01/05/2019 21:08

DS has always said 'pum' instead of come. I love it. He's 6 now and still the same. "Mummy, pum, pum!"

I love it and hope in a way he doesn't grow out of it! In his reading books he says it correctly but never in conversation!

DD, 3, many at the moment!

Dan-de-dil for dandelion
Fuh-ling-mo for flamingo
Pears are always "juicy pears" Smile

truebeliever · 01/05/2019 21:08

My 4 year old DD sings 'She is the girl from dumpling city' instead of Dublin city. Sooo cute 😍
