How’s your Saturday going?

I’m on my second round of toast and tea, some new albums on in the background, deciding what bit of my study plan to cover this morning.

Was going to some shops later to try and find an Art Deco style mirror for the bedroom. But it if the weather stays blustery, I’m more than happy to stay at home and keep listening to music instead!

My roof has leaked everywhere thanks to storm Hannah. I have mopped up and am now trying to get warm sitting in bed with toast. I will move at some point 😀

gingajewel · 27/04/2019 11:15

It’s so windy and cold here! My oh is working so I Have had to battle the food shop with them both! They are both now on the sofa watching a movie and I will do them dinner in a bit!
I was going to take them to the park this afternoon but it’s far too cold, so will probably end up at soft play.... deep joy! But we need to get out of the house! Have promised them both McDonald’s for tea. Quiet day really!

Chipsahoy · 27/04/2019 11:21

Really lovely and relaxed. All of us slept in, including baby (though why do I feel more tired when he sleeps well?)
Older DC are playing on ps4, baby is about to go down for a nap. Then I will drink tea and plan what I have left to do for Dc2 birthday party tomorrow and start planning dc3 birthday party for next weekend!

Moondancer73 · 27/04/2019 11:24

Miserably. In bed and no inclination to get up after a horrible two weeks - I've had gastritis, my aunt passed away, my ex husband is being a dickhead, my car got hit by a bus while it was parked up, my children's friend died and I kicked my oh out yesterday so I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself right now

gingercat02 · 27/04/2019 11:29

DH gone off at the crack of dawn for a fell race. DS on fortnite. I got up at 9:40, coffee, chat to DM, tidied a bit mostly kitchen, put a wash on. Now on 2nd coffee and online shop has just arrived. Pancakes for brunch shortly. Then massive house clean. Footie and fajitas at tea time (and wine for me)

SecondTimeCharm · 27/04/2019 11:29

was stuck in bed with food poisoning, now stuck on couch with food poisoning... have a 3yr old and 4month old and house is a tip so DH desperately trying to fight a lot of fires

MrsScrubbingbrush · 27/04/2019 11:32

Interesting.

After a nice long lie in, I was enjoying reading the papers and having a coffee when the phone rang. I answered it and there was a crackly line and a " hello" followed by silence so I hung up. It rang again and this time it was a ' Detective Sergeant somebody' calling about fraudulent activity on a bank card in the name of Miss X. I double checked that he didn't mean Mr X as that is DPs name and initial. He confirmed it was Miss X. Both DDs have bank accounts but the initial was wrong so I asked what bank was the card from and he hung up on me!

Sounds like a another scam to get your bank details.

woodcutbirds · 27/04/2019 11:33

Woke up to find a cup of tea besdie the bed, brought to me by DH. Rare but lovely! Got up and made DC a fry up as I am away for the weekend from lunchtime and they are revising for exams, so wanted to do something nice for them. Cleaned kitchen, put on washload. Now slobbing on MN before stripping and remaking beds and packing to go away.

DonPablo · 27/04/2019 11:33

I'm cooking a vegan tapas feast later but hadn't got the food for it, so I've been to waitrose (neededed tahini and had a voucher for £8 off) and I'm just about to get started on the cooking. Will have to check over the bathroom and get showered in time to fetch our guests from the train station. Got the wine chilling, looking forward to opening it!

Happy days

catenthusiast · 27/04/2019 11:39

Had a tiny lie in and a huge bowl of coffee on the sofa, followed by a quick trip to M&S to get my parents a fancy meal deal - they're back from holiday this afternoon and I think might have an empty fridge when they get home! Currently sat on the sofa faffing on my phone and waiting for a delivery while DH has gone to do a food shop.

Exciting afternoon planned as the show home version of the house we're buying is open today, so we'll actually get to see it in real life!

Tonight DH is making a big curry feast and we're going to rewatch Infinity War before we go to see Endgame next week - we're having to wait until Tuesday so this will hopefully get us excited for it!

isseywithcats · 27/04/2019 11:40

basically shit, been to work Oh and i are househunting, he is fixated on one property we want but seller is messing us around wont accept offers we have made or look at something else, and someone else is looking at the house today, every other suggestion i have made he has found fault with, as he thinks hes going to get this one under asking price, he just snapped at me so sod him he can find us a house to live in and by next week when he realises we are not going to get it i am hoping for a big grovelly apology

Bleubelle · 27/04/2019 11:45

Got up at 7, hung out 2 loads of washing and did the floors changed the bed and cleaned the loos: I’m now in the hairdressers chilling. DH is doing the food shop and picking up an M&S meal deal for tonight while I’m here. Wine is planned for later this afternoon when we get home.

happymummy12345 · 27/04/2019 11:45

Not as good as I'd hoped actually. Dh swapped his day off - he worked yesterday as they were short staffed and had today off instead, which is brilliant as he never gets a Saturday off, and weekends are much busier where he works, so he's over the moon to be off.
We were hoping for a nice day, but ds (3 and a half) isn't happy at all (tried everything). We've got a lot to do round the house, things to sort out, some phone calls to make we need to walk to the shops to do some shopping in the wind and rain (we don't drive and walking is the quickest and easiest way as we cut through the back way instead of going all round the main road).
Hoping the afternoon is better, ds cheers up a bit and my headache clears up soon.

(On the plus side it's 5 years today since dh and I first met, so that's put a nice positive feel on an otherwise not so good daySmile)

drinkswineoutofamug · 27/04/2019 11:46

Up , getting dressed, off to do food shop then a trawl around b&q looking for wall paper that covers sins and is not brick work style/trees/flowers/birds/glittery or grey ..... husband hard to please

butterwithtoast · 27/04/2019 11:47

I'm on the sofa with my 2 week old baby girl asleep on my chest, watching last night's Gardener's World and scrolling through the internet. Our 2 year old will go up for her nap soon and then we'll get a few things done around the house (maybe). I struggle with feeling unproductive, but I'm so knackered from endless night feeds that most days are spent on the sofa at the moment.

Natsku · 27/04/2019 11:52

Not so wonderfully, have a very grumpy 8 year old because she's not allowed to have friends round today after her rude behaviour yesterday so she's declared the trampoline too boring to go on now (just put it up yesterday) and I'm trying to work out how much sand we need to buy to put into the baby's sandpit and found out sand costs quite a lot.

On the bright side, the baby took 6 or 7 steps today and we were all very excited but then he realised and now he refuses to do it again, stubborn child.

But the sun is shining so we shall go outside after he wakes from his nap.

nakedscientist · 27/04/2019 12:08

Got breakfast in bed from DH, he's gone to the market now and I'm slowly getting ready for the day. I've invited my postgrad student for dinner so will be making a Thai feast for most of the rest of the day!

dudsville · 27/04/2019 12:11

I've polished off my second pot of tea. I've got crap on tv. Cheese on toast. Internet shopping. Laundry out on the line. I see a nap on the horizon.

poodlewoodle · 27/04/2019 12:28

Walked to Slimming world class at 9.30 got soaked, walked home even more soaked. Now on train going to see my Dad but at least it's warm and cosy. DDog has right idea he refused to get up off sofa.

FloofyDoof · 27/04/2019 12:47

DS (20) and DD (18) have just gone off to meet up with some mates a couple of towns over for cinema, shopping, nandos and pub. It's unusual for DD to get a Saturday off so I think she's planning on spending the whole day and evening out. She woke me up to tell me that they were off out at about 11.30, she'd given the cat his breakfast and washed and hung up her work uniform first, and DS had put another wash on and taken the rubbish out. I don't think I've slept this late in years.

I'm just going to finish my coffee, shower and get dressed then I'm off to meet an old friend for pub lunch and a wander round a different nearby town that has some nice shops. I'm going to have a look at the cat rescue there too, I am contemplating getting a second cat and want too see what their process for adopting is, and if they have any cats available that would suit us, where I live and get on with my cat.

happypotamus · 27/04/2019 13:03

Had a nice warm bath and washed my hair for the first time since Tuesday as the boiler was fucked and now is fixed.
Spent a long time in Build A Bear workshop with DD1 spending her birthday money. She had a lot of money so it took a while.
I am very excited to be seeing a moomin theatre show this afternoon, much more excited than DDs, then dinner, then church, then bedtime for DDs. I suddenly remembered this morning that DD had several brownie badges at the end of last term so will be sewing those on this evening.

HelmutFrontbut · 27/04/2019 13:11

My Saturday is going well so far; my twunt of a co worker (who's been antagonising me, colleagues and customers for weeks) is skating on very thin ice - l found a load of deleted emails this morning which have been forwarded to my boss. I'm almost sad as I won't be able to challenge her to the bare knuckle fight as suggested by Thigh Grin

Aside from that, it's Bank Holiday weekend here, the weather is fab and I plan to spend the next two days eating souvla and drinking wine 😁🍷

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 27/04/2019 13:22

Great so far, booked next years holiday so in a very good mood.Off out for date night meal later.

ohtheholidays · 27/04/2019 13:36

I didn't wake up till gone 11(my sleep pattern is all over the sodding place at the moment)my DH had already taken our DD11 to they're golf session.

I've spun the washing and hung 3 loads of laundry out(thought I may as well make the most of the wild wind we have at the moment)I then spent 5 minutes chasing the laundry bag round the garden, the 3 dogs thought I was playing with them so they were alot of help Grin

I've just finished filling up the feeders for the wild birds and feeding and fussing our Rabbit, now I'm sat in the warm binge watching Law and order special victims unit.

Once DH and DD get back we'll have lunch and I may venture out and do some food shopping whilst he takes our 3 youngest DC to spend they're pocket money.

Holymolymackerel · 27/04/2019 13:50

Up to take dd to wall climbing class. Mil had ds because he's got chicken pox.
Called at shop. Chatted to mil, slowly repairing our relationship after a rocky few years.
Put washing on, made lunch, did maths homework with dd. Played battleships.
Now listening to radio doing a crossword.

DH at work till 4pm
