Where should DH and I go - 4 nights childfree in June - somewhere lovely and sunny!

I’m so excited I could wee. My parents have very very kindly offered to have the DC for 4/5 nights in June so DH and I can go away for a restful break together. We’ve had a lot of heartache and I haven’t been abroad in 5 years. I want to sit and read and snooze and people watch and enjoy a daytime drink with an umbrella in it around a pool (Can you tell I’ve missed holidays!)

I want an adults only resort and somewhere that isn’t tooooo long a flight. I want a sun lounger I don’t have to fight for and maybe a room with a private pool. Spa is a bonus but not too fussed really.

All inclusive as long as I can choose more than one place to eat and somewhere that includes decent wine or local fizz (or I can pay on top for)

Be nice if it’s a resort near a town so we can prise ourselves out for a walk or drink at a local bar if we feel like it.

Am I asking for the moon on a stick? Possibly!

I only get this opportunity once so want to make the most of it! Does anyone know of anywhere that sounds like this?!

Thanks and happy Friday!

Major can in June is gorgeous.
These places look lovely

Mumof1andacat · 26/04/2019 18:08

Generally sunny all year round in the canary islands. Flight is around 4.5hrs though. Balearic islands have a shorter flight time

99calmbeforethestorm · 26/04/2019 18:11

Look at tui adult only holidays.

PeterRabbitt · 26/04/2019 18:19

Have a look at the domes of elounda in Crete. Went for our honeymoon in June 4 years ago. Generous wedding present from my sister was to look after our children for a week so we had the same criteria as you.
Would go again in a heartbeat, enough to do but also just as easy to be utterly lazy in the adult only area.

ForalltheSaints · 26/04/2019 18:19

In June it is usually sunny in the UK- somewhere that is adult only perhaps?

sleepstealer · 26/04/2019 18:21

Adults only hotel on the Amalfi Coast, Ischia or Capri.

WickedGoodDoge · 26/04/2019 18:33

I haven’t stayed here, but we rented a villa round the corner from it and it looked lovely!

Soller is great- nice little town and you can take the tram or a taxi down to the Port and the beach. You can also take the old train to Palma for the day (and get the train back or a bus). There’s lots of lovely little walks if you want to be a little bit energetic- e.g. to Fornaluxt.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous area- mountains all around and the sea easy to get to.

DieCryHate · 26/04/2019 18:33

Epic SANA in Lisbon; we went in September for 3 nights and it was amazingly cheap but fantastic. Roof terrace pool with poolside bar service and walking distance to all that Lisbon has to offer. I didn't see any children during our stay. I would definitely recommend.

WickedGoodDoge · 26/04/2019 18:34

Oh, it’s not all inclusive, but there are so many nice restaurants in Soller and the Port.

CottonSock · 26/04/2019 18:36

Mallorca or Lisbon I was also going to say.

TrexDrip · 26/04/2019 18:37

Something different might be a city break to Budapest? Weather beginning of June is lovely, food and drinks cheap and lots and lots of spa’s that have outdoor pools you can stay at all day.

tanpestryfirescreen · 26/04/2019 18:41

Adult only and AO often = not very nice

I would look for a 5 star hotel that isn't AI or adult only personally.

tanpestryfirescreen · 26/04/2019 18:42

Lindos blu in rhodes is adult only?

Popsicle30 · 26/04/2019 18:48

[wickedgooddoge] we have also stayed in a villa just round the corner from the Ca’s Curial and I would agree it looked lovely. I was gutted when I googled it and it was adult only! If only we could get a child free break.

Soller is a beautiful place to stay and echo what pp said. We loved it that much we’re going again in 8 weeks!

Runkle · 26/04/2019 18:51

Iberostar Grand Portals Nous? I loved Portals Nous, mooching about the beach and marina and a short bus ride to Palma.

fruitbrewhaha · 26/04/2019 18:52

What is your budget, hotels vary so much?

ReginaGeorgeous · 26/04/2019 18:55

Have a look at Sentido Thalassa in Coral Bay, Cyprus. Beautiful hotel, on a lovely sandy beach and easy to walk into the resort centre. Also very easy to get a bus into Paphos if you fancied a night out there.

BlueSkiesLies · 26/04/2019 19:03

I reckon no more than a 2.5h flight and 1h transfer - otherwise you’ll waste too much of your 4 days traveling.

pineapplepatty · 26/04/2019 19:07

Sensimar Atlantica beach in Rhodes.

pineapplepatty · 26/04/2019 19:08

Ooh I'd forgotten the Epic Sana Lisbon.

Yes I second that, go there. It's wonderful.

Impatientwino · 26/04/2019 19:11

Thank you all!

Tanpestry - I've not done AO before so was thinking for ease/laziness that a higher rated resort it might be ok.. hmm thank you though.

Budget wise we don't really have one - I'd probably get a bit itchy with over £4k including flights...

Blueskies we think the same - we are only 30 mins from 2 London airports so could prob stretch to maybe 3.5 hours?

I have fond hazy memories of Greece from my childless days!

Marmaris Imperial (TUI) ticks all boxes!
