I'm currently sat in Urgent Care waiting to see a doctor about a gigantic bartholins cyst in my groin (it's bigger than a golf ball) and I'm feeling very sorry for myself.

Had a crap day at work, felt generally unwell with this cyst and had a horrendously frustrating but very important meeting that made me want to scream. Then got home and passed out, called 111 who told me to come here for antibiotics and potential drainage of aforementioned cyst. Whoop!

Please mumsnetters - cheer me up and stop me feeling sorry for myself Grin

Sorry you feel down OP. Hopefully they will ace your cyst . I've just poked myself really hard in the eye trying out my new elemis cleanser balm so am squinting as I type and my eyeball is killing me Grin tearing pissing down my cheek atm. Stingly!

MrsMozartMkII · 24/04/2019 20:51

That's a bugger. Hope it's sorted quickly and well.

I moved house, which was chaos, and then cracked a rib being6d lazy and leaning over something instead of going the proper way round. It's proving testing.

I bought a new shower curtain today only to find out it's a tablecloth! Thanks ikea for hanging it up with hooks! Hope your feeling better soon!

Ouch, OP. I had a golf ball-sized bartholin cyst years ago, so I definitely feel your pain. Hope they get it sorted at the hospital Flowers.

I’ve had a shocking day, too. Had to cancel a meeting I really didn’t want to cancel and leave work early as I unexpectedly got my period BIG style (as in, gushing down my legs and on to my shoes-style Shock). It was mortifying.

Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 24/04/2019 20:58

Oh no! Sounds like I'm not the only one having a bad day. Also been told not to eat or drink anything so I'm a little worried as to why.....

DanFmDorking Made me gigglesnort, ta Grin

Grow Oops... Just hang it up, no one will notice Grin

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 24/04/2019 21:37

It will fit but it's not very practical as it's white with patterns on and not wipe clean! No good for the kids 😂 I would return but I also forgot my purse and phone so my friend paid and has the receipt!I actually had to look on the website to see what I had actually bought! It's just been one of those days

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 24/04/2019 21:39

Just so no one else gets fooled 😂

Please cheer me up - rubbish day
mimibunz · 24/04/2019 21:45

Aw, bless you. I once had to get a catheter on my period. Oh the shame. I apologised to the nurse. She said, bah who cares?

Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 24/04/2019 21:59

Just been seen. I now need to be seen by the gynaecologist, and it will more than likely need to be drained. I am shitting myself.

OP posts:
Minkies11 · 24/04/2019 22:03

Sending Wine or Cake if you prefer OP. Get the bastard thing drained. Good luck!

Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 25/04/2019 00:39

Still waiting. Tired, hungry and fed up.

OP posts:
Weenurse · 25/04/2019 00:45

You will feel much better when it is drained 💐

Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 25/04/2019 00:46

Half tempted to go home and try again tomorrow. I can see me still being here at next shift change. Even offered to go home and come back when it's more convenient Sad

OP posts:
Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 25/04/2019 01:42

And now they've decided not to drain as they don't have the staff. So I've been here 7 hours and I am going home with antibiotics. Angry

OP posts:
Weenurse · 25/04/2019 01:44

Go home and sit in a warm, salty bath to ease discomfort and see if it will discharge itself

Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 25/04/2019 01:46

Weenurse - if I somehow managed to fall on a pin, do you think that would help....?

OP posts:
Weenurse · 25/04/2019 03:02

Not recommended, but a hot bath or compress to the area. You don’t want to squeeze and spread the bacteria under the skin and get a cellulitis, that would be agony.

captainpantbeard · 25/04/2019 06:23

And please update if it pops.... Please?

Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 25/04/2019 07:00

Ahh thanks weenurse - I'm a sporner at heart so this is a double edged sword for me Grin. I shall not squeeze Sad

OP posts:
Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 25/04/2019 07:01

Captainpantbeard - absolutely. Apparently it's not a bartholins cyst but an abscess. Not entirely sure of the difference, but it bloody hurts!
