I'm currently sat in Urgent Care waiting to see a doctor about a gigantic bartholins cyst in my groin (it's bigger than a golf ball) and I'm feeling very sorry for myself.

Had a crap day at work, felt generally unwell with this cyst and had a horrendously frustrating but very important meeting that made me want to scream. Then got home and passed out, called 111 who told me to come here for antibiotics and potential drainage of aforementioned cyst. Whoop!

Please mumsnetters - cheer me up and stop me feeling sorry for myself Grin

Do they have a plan to get rid of it lass?

Zoeputthatdown · 25/04/2019 11:16

Poor Toothless, what a rough time you're having.

Grow that made me laugh, thanks!

Not really MrsMozart, its antibiotics and if they don't work then it's draining under GA. Quite why they can't do it under local I'm not sure. Admittedly, the thought of someone approaching my nether regions with needles and a scalpel doesn't fill me with deep joy but at least it would be quicker than a general.

But we do have some drainage happening. At least on a small part of it. It's huge - apparently a vulvar abscess rather than bartholins. It's affecting an area approx 2 inches across and 6 inches down on one side. Wondered why it hurt so much!

At home today with a hot water bottle and lots of tea.

Grow - that would make an amazing shower curtain if it actually were a shower curtain Grin

Ouch that sounds horrible op. I hope you get it drained and get antibiotics on board soon.

I'm currently on day 3 of being at home off sick with painful muscle spasms in my back. I feel embarrassingly stupid and fed up in equal measures. I only twisted round to talk to one of the kids and bam it went into spasms.

Cushion - oh no! Amazing how a simple and perfectly normal action can cause so much agony! Hope you feel better soon.

So glad this didn't happen during the Easter holidays. I'd have had a hard time explaining to the kids, and then making sure they didn't tell all and sundry!

Toothless So glad you're home, and that there's some drainage!

Here's hoping it keeps on going down.

Weenurse · 27/04/2019 00:36

Hoping it is discharging and you are much more comfortable

cushioncovers · 27/04/2019 12:00

Thanks op. Hope you're feeling better today.
