How many Easter eggs did your kids get?

My step-sons got 5 eggs and a chocolate bunny each but they get even more over their mum’s as she has a larger family. We try and limit the amount of chocolate coming into the house as we still have chocolate from Christmas (believe it or not!) but it’s difficult when other people buy for the kids as well.

I just wondered how many others have had a ‘frugal’ Easter this year or have you all gone chocolate-crazy?!

Too many!! They’re all over my house. Think they all got 5 each too and a bundle of small eggs acquired from an Easter egg hunt today x

ANiceLuxury · 21/04/2019 21:33

7 each. They are 6 and nearly 2. I haven’t bought any of them and all they have done is pester to eat as much as possible

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 21/04/2019 21:35

DS got this package from his child free Godfather. 24 kinder surprise sized eggs with a shitty toy inside. Needless to say he won't be getting them all. They'll just disappear in a cupboard and DS will forget about them Grin

7 each. They are 5 and 6. Both have eaten just the one.

Stroller15 · 21/04/2019 21:35

1 bunny each. And the 2 year old ate the 6 months old's bunny. No family here and I know I'll end up eating it so don't get them any more.

AuditAngel · 21/04/2019 21:38

DS and DD1 have 5 each so far, DD2 has 6.

Reason for difference is that I offered the DC an egg or a £10 note. Littlest chose an egg.

Stravapalava · 21/04/2019 21:38

Not too many this year, surprisingly.

2 large eggs, 1 standard egg and 2 standard sized bunnies each. Still a lot, but much less than previous years. They've been on 2 egg hunts as well, but we all ate those little eggs between us over the weekend.

Allyg1185 · 21/04/2019 21:45

5 small eggs, a medium chicken and 8 small rabbits

ImNotHappyaboutitPauline · 21/04/2019 21:54

9 each though only one from us. Gps, aunts and uncles and a couple of friends and neighbours all gave them. It's far too much of course but I can't get too worked up about it. People like to give them, they're (relatively) cheap and it's not as if we'll allow them to scoff the lot over the Easter holidays. Most likely we'll be coming across forgotten eggs in August Grin.

Jamhandprints · 21/04/2019 22:00

6 each! In this weather too. DS1 would eat them all in a day if he could. DS2 will probably eat a big for a couple of days then forget about them....When I will make them into cookies or something to get rid of them

RoseMartha · 21/04/2019 22:01

7 each. 1 large. 3 medium. 3 small. All from different family members and should last a month or so and have been put out of reach. We have this unwritten rule you open one and eat it all (not at once) before you open the next one.

ExpletiveDelighted · 21/04/2019 22:02

3 each, one from us, one from each of two uncles.

RainbowMum11 · 21/04/2019 22:09

1 - from an egg hunt.
DC won't eat the chocolate anyway so it's pointless.

ImportantWater · 21/04/2019 22:13

The oldest one got 4 eggs (from us, grandparents and 2 aunts) and the youngest had 5 because his friend also bought him one. They both had 20 mini eggs from an egg hunt.

ImogenTubbs · 21/04/2019 22:25

Dad is 5. She's had one big-ish one from us and about 6-7 smaller (kinder egg size) ones from an egg hunt. She's hardly eaten any of it though and I expect it will last her most of the week and some will end up in the bin (or in me - the human bin).

Elflocks · 21/04/2019 22:26

2 but I think dc has 1 more to come. I was going to buy a big bar of chocolate from DH and me, but decided not to - 3 is enough for any 5 year old.

Blankiefan · 21/04/2019 22:55

2 so far but she has a granny still to visit so likely 3.

She got lots of other wee bits and pieces - gran bought her kerplunk and pjs with her egg. Easter bunny did non chocolate things in refillable eggs (water soluble nail varnish, erasers, etc) with a LOL in the big one at the end.

She's 5.

Youngandfree · 21/04/2019 22:57

One egg 🙌

BackforGood · 21/04/2019 22:58

dd (who is 17) was talking about this being a downside of growing older. She's had 3. Back in the day, she'd have had about 8. Gutted she is Grin

Whoops75 · 21/04/2019 23:01

2

minipie · 21/04/2019 23:02

Lots of mini ones from granny’s easter egg hunt

One large one each from me & DH

One bunny each from cousins

A couple of small things from their teachers, weeks ago when term ended

They had 3 mini eggs from the hunt today but the rest will be rationed over many weeks!

They are 4 and 6.

icannotremember · 21/04/2019 23:10

Three each from me, a chocolate bunny and set of spoonable chocolate eggs each from their grandparents. They seem happy.

Catsandbootsandbootsandcats · 21/04/2019 23:22

Zero. My poor deprived kids. 😢

We got back from holiday yesterday and they've got sticks of rock, sweets and chocolate so I figured I didn't need to buy them an egg. None of them said anything, but they're teens so I guess not too bothered. I've never really done Easter so they don't always get eggs.

Applesbananaspears · 21/04/2019 23:25

None. I don’t think they have ever had one

Millie2013 · 22/04/2019 06:33

DD got
One small egg from us
One (medium) from the in laws
Some little kinder shapes from my mum
A small egg from my friend
A small egg from the NT egg hunt

And apparently there’s one from another friend at the stables

She’s not got much of a sweet tooth either, she’s still got Christmas chocolate left
