I did yesterday but DS has just gone out now so I thought I’d let him get some vitamin D. I’ve had skin cancer (basal cell) so I tend to go ott with it the suncream. It’s ok at this time of day to be without though isn’t it? He’s got jogging bottoms, t shirt and cap on so only his forearms our really.

I knew a woman who worked for cancer research, her kids were half Italian & olive skinned. She applied sunblock all Summer, even in between their toes.

You can get vit d from food.

For all of those not putting sunscreen on children who tan rather than burn, a tan is still damage and they should really be wearing it too.

There is a reason skin cancer rates are so much higher in sunbed users than the general population.

Yes because they are very pale skinned at DS in particular has been out on his bike all weekend, returning only to be fed.

You can’t get enough vitamin D from
food and vitamin D deficiency is linked to a whole host of illnesses, including cancer (I was part of a study).

We need 20 min (less if fair skinned, more if dark) of sun expose on arms/legs every day between April until October. Obviously most of us don’t get this. Everyone should supplement in the winter.

I always let my olive skinned boys have at least 30mins in the sun before covering up or putting cream on.
