School gate fights between parents

I've been speaking to some friends of mine in a facebook group with people around England. (not just "online friends").

It seems quite a lot of them have seen actual physical fights and arguments between mothers? In one case, the police were called!

Is this common place? I'm new to this, and not seen it in my son's school.

Why are people calling out Netmums, did I miss something?

Shame I didn't see the now removed comments, been super busy.

I mean, this thread kind of confirms what I thought, haha

The only stuff I see here is parents swearing at their kids, which I think is really bad Shock

There was a rough, gobby woman who once punched a heavily pregnant woman in the belly at our school because pregnant woman's friend was seeing gobby's ex or something? It was quite the shocker because pregnant woman had nothing to do with it and was only asking rough gobby woman to stop kicking off at the school in front of the kids. Head teacher banned gobby from school grounds and the police attended the school runs for a short time.

However, it was one single occasion and is practically unheard of.

I was once threatened by an old lady and her dd who was in her 40s on sports day because I asked politely if they sit in their seats as they stood up in front of me as I was heavily pregnant, she went to raise her walking stick to hit me but was warned by my father that would be the last thing she ever did.
