What can I listen to that will make me laugh out loud?

I need something to get me through the couch to 5k, so audiobooks or podcasts for preference. I listen to no such thing as a fish, Richard herring, some politics stuff, but while they are interesting, I need actually laughing out loud to distract me from every moment of awfulness that is this godforsaken challenging I've taken on. Successes so far with So my dad wrote a porno, Joe Lycett's buttered parsnips, and Yes Minister/Prime Minister. What else is likely to get me strange looks as a chuckle to myself plodding down the street?

I like the fortunately podcasts with Jane Garvey and Fi Glover. It’s not supposed to be a comedy but they won an award for best comedy podcast last year. Grin. I would especially recommend it if you are perimenopausal.

Steve Coogan Reading Alan Partridge's autobiography.

My Dad Wrote a Porno

Moominfan · 18/04/2019 20:51

Let's talk about myths baby

FusionChefGeoff · 18/04/2019 20:53

Something that really works for me when running is the cliff hanger style pod casts so I'm desperate to get out for the next run to hear what happens!

Serial is excellent.

KosmoKramer · 18/04/2019 20:53

Argh, ignore Porno. I should have RTFT properly 🤣

ShutTheFridgeUp · 18/04/2019 20:55

James Acaster's classic scrapes and Sarah Milligan's how to be champion are my go to's when I need something that makes me chuckle.

AllAboutHallowsEve · 18/04/2019 20:57

Dear Joan and Jericha, by Julia Davis and Vikki Pepperdine, is absolute filth and hysterically funny.

Trying to find all the Cabin pressure series but struggling with the silly new bbc sounds app...anyone able to link?

Illberidingshotgun · 18/04/2019 21:02

The Guilty Feminist. Thought provoking, but also has me chuckling away to myself as I walk the dog.

LowLifeOpinions · 18/04/2019 21:16

Miranda Hart 'Is it just me' audio book :)

LadyR77 · 18/04/2019 22:06

The Adam Buxton podcast is really good.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 18/04/2019 22:10

Thank you all, loads to investigate. I've listened to Cabin Pressure three times now, but it's always worth another go. Anyone know where it is online?

The New Quiz always has me lolling.

SparklyMagpie · 18/04/2019 22:28

@chalkwhite yes yes YES!!! 😂😂

I always love these threads as I pick up a couple of new podcasts to add to my collection, but i always look out for the Partridge fans and his audio books narrated by himself are outstanding 😂😂

Get on them OP!! Ooooh you'll have a good time !!

SparklyMagpie · 18/04/2019 22:30

Ooh and my latest favourite but I've always been a massive fan of this character ...

Clinton Baptiste's paranormal podcast

You can thank me later Grin

Roominmyhouse · 18/04/2019 22:30

Definitely the Adam Buxton podcasts, really funny!

MuddlePuddle · 18/04/2019 22:50

I would recommend David Sedaris. His books are great so you could get the audio versions. He has a new series on Radio 4 just now. He is a good mix of funny and moving.
