What can I listen to that will make me laugh out loud?

I need something to get me through the couch to 5k, so audiobooks or podcasts for preference. I listen to no such thing as a fish, Richard herring, some politics stuff, but while they are interesting, I need actually laughing out loud to distract me from every moment of awfulness that is this godforsaken challenging I've taken on. Successes so far with So my dad wrote a porno, Joe Lycett's buttered parsnips, and Yes Minister/Prime Minister. What else is likely to get me strange looks as a chuckle to myself plodding down the street?

If you have cats, listen to Eddie Izzard’s “Cats drilling for oil behind the sofa”. I cried with laughter.

I've embarrassed myself a few times by laughing out loud at some of the stories of social awkwardness on the Adrift podcast.

Simon Mayo's sadly missed confessions on his old radio 2 show are now long gone, but you can still download old episodes of the podcast. My app has ones from a year ago. I don't know if any other apps have more.

I also like The Bugle and The Rhod Gilbert Podcast.

OP, I don't think you can download Cabin Pressure from BBC sounds. I bought it from Audible.

cariadlet · 19/04/2019 00:17

The Friday Night Comedy podcast from the bbc has The Now Show, News Quiz or Dead Ringers depending on which is currently being broadcast on the Friday 6.30 slot.

Can you still get the old Adam and Joe 6Music podcasts? Those got me through pregnancy sickness. I would go to bed at seven and lie in the dark sucking ice cubes and weakly laughing at them.

Am laughing just remembering them now Grin

Cabin Pressure, Old Harry's Game, Dead Ringers, News Quiz -a series of the first two are being or have been recently repeated on Radio 4 extra.
Apart from Cabin Pressure the others are topical or have topical references so you have to think about when it was first broadcast.

Winterfellismyhome · 19/04/2019 08:40

Shagged, married, annoyed. Its a podcast by Chris Ramsey and his wife Rosie. Its really funny

LarryGreysonsDoor · 19/04/2019 08:42

Drunk Women Solving Crime is great.
It’s 3 women plus a guest and one of them gives details of a crime while the others have to work out what happened next, all the time they are getting pissed.

123fushia · 19/04/2019 08:45

Older and Wider podcast with Jenny Eclair and Judith Holder

Fortunately with Jane Garvey and Fi Glover

MsFenellaFielding · 19/04/2019 08:46

Joan and Jericha is amazing.

All kill a no filla is brilliant if you are interested in serial murders.

MsFenellaFielding · 19/04/2019 08:47

AKNF is mainly about crime but the filla is hysterical.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 19/04/2019 08:59

I agree with All Killa No Filla but only if you can cope with serial killers.
