DH has just handed me a bacon butty with no butter

It's just bacon and dry bread. I'm flabbergasted.

My darling DD, who is back here until she gets paid for her first month in surgery since graduation, kindly made me a bacon sandwich.

It had butter on it.

I nearly threw her out.

What the fuck is wrong with him? Doesn't he know that you're supposed to fry the bacon and dip the bread in the bacon fat for extra taste and moisture and add brown sauce?

Is he deliberately doing it wrong because he thinks that gets him out of cooking?

I'd be sending it back if it had butter on it. Too much fat along with the bacon, and makes the whole thing taste too greasy!

I'm anti-butter in all sandwiches but not ones (and it seems the monster the OP is married to is also a sicko as he got the hot part wrong too.)

Only things worse that could have occurred would be a cold bacon sandwich with 'spread' in (in fact even with hot bacon this would be unspeakably awful.)

Well butter in a bacon sandwich completely ruins it so I'm with him. Bread, bacon, nothing else required for perfection.

My DH does this! Despite me telling him every sodding time I want butter. He also tries to make it so that I don't notice there's no butter. Er as if. And when he does deign to put butter on he doesn't even spread it to the edges..... I've given up.

That's the best way butter/margarine is horrible. Lots of tomato sauce instead.

That's how I eat mine. I don't even put butter on sandwiches.

My perfect bacon sandwich has toasted granary bread, masses of HP Sauce and bacon. Butter is superfluous; bacon is fatty enough.

Also a glass of milk goes beautifully with the HP Sauce - food of the gods!

What! The nicest thing about a bacon butty is when the hot bacon melts the butter. Yum! (And when the bacon is crispy and caramelised). Gosh I wish I had bacon right now

The only thing worse in a bacon sandwich than butter is sauce, especially HP. I could force down a buttered one or one with tomato sauce out of politeness but never one with HP.
