It's just bacon and dry bread. I'm flabbergasted.

Well, I ate it, and it was just as disappointing as it sounds. There was no point adding butter retrospectively, the bacon was cold and it never would have melted to the right consistency. DH said he can feel my evil stare from the other side of the room.

Bastard.

Good man. I think bacon butties with butter are too greasy and are uncivilised!

Mememeplease · 16/04/2019 23:46

Butter on a bacon sandwich is all kinds of wrong. Hp sauce - now we are talking.

Itsagrandoldteam · 16/04/2019 23:49

At 8 weeks pregnant I couldn't even look at bacon.

I would definitely have butter on my bacon sandwich, both my DH and DS don't like butter on theirs though.

Get him to make you another one.

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 17/04/2019 00:41

It is clear your 'd'h doesn't know which side of his bread is buttered!

We went to Tesco earlier and bought some bacon and crusty rolls for lunch tomorrow. I have had to resist temptation all evening as I WANT MY BACON BUTTY NOW. This thread has made it even worse. The only thing stopping me getting a butty now is the thought I can't have one for lunch when everyone else is, so I will wait.

But if I have one now I can always have another for lunch and crack open a jar of emergency hotdogs for the boys.

And yes, it needs butter. And yes, your husband needs buried under the patio.

He’s a psychopath.

Ella1980 · 17/04/2019 01:06

My OH is from the West Midlands. Not only does he sound like Frank Skinner but he also does not do butter with a bacon sarnie. It's "Not done near Brum" apparently.

I honestly don't know what I see in him.

(I think it may be his accent) Wink

frenchonion · 17/04/2019 01:18

I've never heard anything so wrong! Wtf was he thinking?!

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 17/04/2019 01:26

I was going to say ltb, then I saw you were pregnant, so I reckon you should bury him under the patio.

shitpark · 17/04/2019 01:27

Oh ffs. I can not unread that now.

AdaColeman · 17/04/2019 01:39

You need dip and tomato ketchup on a bacon sandwich, not butter!

But better still is a bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich with mayonnaise!

MitziK · 17/04/2019 02:10

He's a fucking monster.

Kill him now. Nobody would blame you for it.

Theoldwoman · 17/04/2019 02:13

I wouldn't add butter either.

Maybe he forgot?

April241 · 17/04/2019 02:16

Bacon sandwich without butter is awful!!!

Butter and brown sauce, absolute must.

Alicewond · 17/04/2019 02:26

I feel saddened for you and your future children, he’s not worthy!

RainbowWaffles · 17/04/2019 03:05

The savage.

WinterHeatWave · 17/04/2019 03:37

Good man.
I adore butter, but it has no place in a bacon sandwich.
Bacon, freshest white bread, and some dripping from the bottom of the grill pan....

This thread....oh god this is is worse than Brexit! Bacon Needs Butter!!!!!

Thismummyruns · 17/04/2019 03:44

Dry bread... unforgivable.

Give him a chance to explain his actions but it doesn't look good- so sorry you've had to find out in this way

Wink
Pemba · 17/04/2019 03:54

Your DP is correct IMO. Most sandwiches should be lightly buttered but not bacon ones! They are a different breed, and butter would overwhelm and smother the taste of the delicious bacon juice soaked up by the bread.

Alicewond · 17/04/2019 03:55

Op I’m on the verge of setting up a just giving page to bring you butter!

Alicewond · 17/04/2019 03:57

Oh dear I made a joke and mumsnet are reviewing it, they are clearly anti butter! 😂

HerRoyalNotness · 17/04/2019 04:00

Depends on the butter alice was it dragons butter?

Alicewond · 17/04/2019 04:05

I kind of want to google it, but I wonder if I’ll be arrested if I do...
