Weird car scenario- how do you handle this?

All the family Mum/Dad, 3 kids are in the car.

The Dad is trying to park in a tricky place in a borrowed car. He’s clearly connected his phone to the cars Bluetooth as he gets a call and there’s no number displayed but a name “Amber Cherry”

The dad gets flustered parking and quickly stops to decline the call.

He says he has no idea who it is- which is clearly is a lie - as a random number you would not know the recipient but sure I’d youve saved someone to your contacts then you know who they are? Furthermore there’s a big song and dance and much “ringing” of said persons number with “it’s going straight to answerphone”

The Mum in this scenario says
“I know everyone in my address book and would definitely not forget a person with a low rent, made up strippers name” 🙄

Interested in feedback- name changed as I have other history on MN which would identify me.

Katerina it wouldn’t be any use as he has a phone that can only be unlocked with the face-eye?

He thinks you and your (fantastic) DS are stupid. It sounds like an escort's name, doesn't it? Do you have shared bank accounts? Does he have means, opportunity and motive?

NicoAndTheNiners · 15/04/2019 20:20

I thought it sounded like a made up/stripper name but there's a few Amber Cherrys on fb. Some don't look like the sort who would pick such a made up name so maybe some people are actually called Amber Cherry.

MyKingdomForBrie · 15/04/2019 20:21

Eish. I don't think you will feel comfortable with this until you can really thrash it out just the two of you. Is there an activity they can do without you?

NicoAndTheNiners · 15/04/2019 20:22

There's a website (don't ask me how I know this) with a chat forum all about escorts, call girls. It's sorted by county area. I think it's the adultwork forum, not sure and I'm not having a look!

But you capsule sign up, join the thread for your area and ask if anyone would recommend Amber Cherry. See if people answer.

caughtinanet · 15/04/2019 20:25

It doesn't sound good, can you ask for his phone once the DC are asleep or make him call the number with you watching what he's doing. It' pretty clear he didn't actually call earlier

Susanna30 · 15/04/2019 20:26

Very suspicious indeed.
Have a thorough look through his phone. And try and call this number back yourself, if he hasn't deleted the contact / number!

KaterinaPetrova · 15/04/2019 20:28

Are there any Amber Cherry's local to you on Facebook? Could it be a real name of someone your husband may be associating with?

WhenEnoughIsEnough · 15/04/2019 20:30

I mean it doesn't sound good however on my phone it's got some sort of recognition thingy so when someone calls even if I don't have their number saved then it shows up as their name. Also if he has things like Facebook messenger installed on his phone then it will pick up contact details from that without them being saved on the phone.

Redglitter · 15/04/2019 20:33

Has he got True Caller app? I have it on my phone & it often shows up someones name if they're calling even if you dont have their name stored.

That said, his behaviour is definitely suspicious. If he had nothing to hide he should have handed over the phone to let you call back.

AmIIntrouble · 15/04/2019 20:34

When my dh cheated on me, he won't let me see his phone.

I don't understand why he won't prove it unless he is guilty.

Best wishes.

Combopanda · 15/04/2019 20:34

I can only advise generally about the escort business, It would be pretty unusual for the escort to call a client themselves & if its an agency it would be very unlikely for the name to appear on a caller id. Most agencies have business names that would not make it obvious what the business was.

NicoAndTheNiners · 15/04/2019 20:36

Oh that's a good point about some phones linking fb accounts to phone numbers, etc and inserting a name. But if that's the case why pretend to ring the number back? That's the dodgiest bit.

LuckyLou7 · 15/04/2019 20:37

Amber Cherry is the name of a certain laminate flooring. Is he planning to install a new floor to surprise you?

NicoAndTheNiners · 15/04/2019 20:37

A lot of call girls work solo and not through an agency. They have regular punters. Though I have no idea how common or not it is for call girls to ring their clients? It could be someone's real name and not a call girl.

bobstersmum · 15/04/2019 20:43

@luckylou7 op will be over the moon if it's only a floor getting laid!

grincheux · 15/04/2019 20:51

Googling it only seems to bring up furniture, decking and company names... yes I'm waiting for the dinner to cook and genuinely had nothing better to do

Frenchie85 · 15/04/2019 21:11

I am with whoever said it is actually someone with initials A.C. Maybe look through his friend lists on social media?

Skweeler · 15/04/2019 21:20

Would you be able unlock his phone with his face while he sleeps? My DH says some older models can be simply unlocked with a photo.

caughtinanet · 15/04/2019 21:21

If you wanted to hide the name of an OW in your phone you'd have to be pretty stupid to chose a porn pseudonym

HollyBollyBooBoo · 15/04/2019 21:31

Surely if you wanted to hide our OW in your phone you'd put a dull as shit male name in wouldn't you?

Oh look Dave Taylor's calling...

NicoAndTheNiners · 15/04/2019 21:34

I guess if your phone only unlocks via face recognition you wouldn't think you needed to give a pseudonym to your other woman.

Badwifey · 15/04/2019 21:39

Sounds definitely shifty. I doubt an escort would be calling him though... have you looked for businesses with that name?

WhoKnewBeefStew · 15/04/2019 21:42

You can still put a code in on an iPhone X that’s usually fave recognition. So if you know his pin code you could get in. If it
Doesn’t recognise your face it’ll go to the pin code.

But sounds well dodgy

SchrodingersBrexit · 15/04/2019 21:54

Doesn't sound good, but more his reaction than anything else.

Is he quite dishonest generally?
