Heaven or Hell - where will you end up?

Let's pretend they both exist.

I have done some not so good things in my life but overall, I think I'd be heaven-bound.

Heaven or Hell - where will you end up?
Nesssie · 15/04/2019 19:01

I think Heaven. I wasn’t a great child nothing serious but I lied and cheated a lot. I spend my days rescuing animals now so I like to think I’m Heaven material.

tierraJ · 15/04/2019 19:03

To go to heaven you have to be committed to a particular religion such as a born again Christian or a faithful Muslim.

I'm an agnostic & have major doubts about god as a 'good' all loving entity so I don't think I want to go to heaven anyway.

And they say the devil has all the best tunes....

Nesssie · 15/04/2019 19:07

Don’t take this so seriously! The ops just asking if, on balance, you have been more ‘good’ or ‘bad’ in your life.

Starburst8 · 15/04/2019 19:40

I'm currently watching a show "the good place" I'll probably end up like the 4 main characters; thinking I'm in "heaven" but actually in "hell"

SrSteveOskowski · 15/04/2019 19:50

I'm with Stephen Fry on this one.

ForalltheSaints · 15/04/2019 19:55

I hope it is a long time before the judgment needs to be made.

DramaAlpaca · 15/04/2019 19:58

I'll end up in Limbo according to my Catholic MIL. She was forever praying that I'd convert & was most upset when I told her it wasn't going to happen.

GiantPretzel · 15/04/2019 20:35

Drama, limbo got doctrinally ‘disinvented’ in the 1950s, so your MIL will have to find some other form of afterlife subdivision to slot you into. Grin

AguerosAngel · 15/04/2019 20:36

Judge me by my actions and it would be heaven, based on my thoughts Hell, 100%, nailed on!

TheHatOfDoom · 15/04/2019 20:42

Given that I’m very happy as a wheelchair user and a religious friend keeps trying to comfort me by telling me I won’t have a wheelchair in heaven, I better aim for hell.

Ohyesiam · 15/04/2019 20:42

I’ve tried hard to live a good life and take responsibility for my actions I adulthood. But I think I’m too passive, I’ve never set up an orphanage or anything really proactive. All my jobs have been helping people who are suffering, but I’m not an instigator,
I did have a wild youth, and trod on a few toes.
It’s complicated!

Pascha · 15/04/2019 21:01

Probably hell for me. Rowan Atkinson comes to mind...

isseywithcats · 15/04/2019 21:15

always said im off to hell on a Harley at 100miles an hour, nice and warm and ive heard they play bingo and told everyone in the family i want AC/DCs highway to hell played at the end of my cremation

Bloodybridget · 15/04/2019 21:23

During my Catholic childhood we were encouraged, at school, to pray for "the holy souls in Purgatory". When I was about 15 I remember asking in an RE lesson if we should pray for souls in Hell, and the nun who was taking the class replied that "although we know that Hell exists, we don't know that anyone is there". I still think that was a good answer, I was surprised by it at the time.

Very, very occasionally I get ex-Catholic heebie-jeebies: "Suppose it was really all true, and I go to Hell!"

CaptainJaneway62 · 15/04/2019 21:41

Ill probably end up in Limbo.... but I hope there is no Reincarnation as the thought of coming back again freaks me out!! Grin

groundcontroltomontydon · 15/04/2019 21:47

I'll be in the boring bit, minding the coats and dealing with the admin. In death as in life ...

DaisyDreaming · 15/04/2019 21:47

Heaven even if I say so myself but only if based on life. If it’s based on Christian god and Jesus then I’m hell bound. I feel Stephen fries answer to if he met god at the gates of heaven now wokld he feel and what would he say.

Supergrassyknoll · 15/04/2019 21:50

Hell, where all the other fun people will be

RuggyPeg · 15/04/2019 21:59

Based on just today alone, hell.

darkriver19886 · 15/04/2019 22:14

For me it would be Summerland BUT if I had to chose between the parameters. It better be heaven after the life I have had.

JaneJeffer · 15/04/2019 22:17

Drama may you be in heaven half an hour before the Devil knows you're dead Grin

BollocksToBrexit · 15/04/2019 22:20

I believe that pretty much everyone is going to heaven. The only requirement for membership in heaven is accepting Jesus. Hell is for those that don't (it's not a place, it's a state, ie permanently separated from God). I get that loads of people don't believe now but on judgment day, standing in front of his throne, surrounded by angels and the hosts of heaven, being shown the gateway to heaven and all your loved ones living forever in heavenly bliss, who's going to to turn round and say 'thanks but no thanks, I'm going home with the dark smelly horny dude with the pitch fork'?

Squiff70 · 15/04/2019 23:30

Probably roughly where I am now... Purgatory!

DramaAlpaca · 15/04/2019 23:32
