Things you hope DON'T happen in Game of Thrones season 8

All the main good guys survive and win.
One of the good guys gets turned into a White Walker BUT manages to retain some vestiges of their old personality after a massive internal struggle between good and evil, and then kills the Night King or enables him to be killed.

Both would be a huge cliche and not in the spirit of the show, imo.

Jaime dies because of Cersei. I know he's almost certainly dying, much as I'd love for him to go off happily with Brienne (ha as if, it's GoT), but I really hope it isn't linked to her. Let it be defending Winterfell or doing something honorable, I really don't want his arc to ultimately end back with Cersei!

Daenerys ends up on the Iron Throne. Too predictable. Same for Jon Snow.

CarolDanvers · 13/04/2019 12:36

I don’t want anything to happen to Sansa. I love her now and how she’s developed as a character. I hope Tyrion’s prediction “she will outlive us all” comes true.

TheQueef · 13/04/2019 12:37

Arya being killed.

I hope they don't all die

FaithInfinity · 13/04/2019 13:09

I really, really want Tormund to survive/not die. I swing between ‘No-one could survive that fall’...to ‘But you haven’t seen him die’....to ‘But it’s GOT, of course he’s died!’.

ForalltheSaints · 13/04/2019 13:27

People assume you watch it (don't have satellite tv or Netflix).

PersonaNonGarter · 13/04/2019 13:28

Arya dying. I agree. Or Sansa.

Someone massive will die in episode 1.

kaldefotter · 13/04/2019 13:30

@FaithInfinity Tormund's alive... he's in the trailers for the coming season. Beric Dondarrion too, they both survive the collapse of the wall.

TheQueef · 13/04/2019 13:30

I want to binge watch but I haven't the will power to wait.
I've been listening to audio books narrated by Briene, I want her and Tormund to get together ❤

Nousernameforme · 13/04/2019 13:32

I would hate for it to turn out all fan service with a happy neat ending. Although i dont want any of them to die.

HappyMama01 · 13/04/2019 13:35

Apparently the creators of the show have said when the finale airs, they are going to turn off their phones and be drunk somewhere secret; as no one will be happy with the ending 😂

Mapril · 13/04/2019 13:35

I just don't want Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons to ultimately get the Iron Throne, that's all.

I suspect that the character has been spoilt for me due to Emilia Clarke's appalling acting.

PersonaNonGarter · 13/04/2019 14:54

Daenerys will die. Probably in childbirth.

I think Gendry and Arya will have a thing. Baratheon/Lannister and House Stark

CarolDanvers · 13/04/2019 16:04

@TheQueef I always binge watch. I will come off FB and other social media for the duration and then watch all the episodes back to back on the final weekend. My friends know better than to drop spoilers.

BigStripeyBastard · 13/04/2019 16:36

I want Brienne and Tormund to have massive babies together.
I do not want Ser Davos Seaworth killed off. Screw the rest of them, balls to the Iron Throne and knickers to the White Walkers. Ser Davos MUST SURVIVE! (I love him. 😃)

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/04/2019 19:14

Agree someone big will die in the first episode. Hmm.. Arya maybe? Jaime?

beepbeeprichie · 13/04/2019 19:23

Ed Sheeran making a reappearance.

Figgygal · 13/04/2019 19:26

I think Jon will make some big sacrifice but I hope he doesn't and ends up on the throne

I don't want Tyron to die

fussychica · 13/04/2019 19:27

We've just done a dead or not dead of the main characters during the final season. It's not looking good for mostGrin

HenSolo · 13/04/2019 19:35

So one of the things that really irritated me in the last season was that they showed Jaime riding towards the dragon and it looked like he was going to get incinerated then bloody Bronn dives out of nowhere to save his life. It was sooo much like they know one of the reasons the show is successful is that you don’t know when the major characters are going to die but they didn’t actually have the guts to kill Jaime off. Was so cliched to me and I’d expect it from other (lesser?) shows.

So I hope there is none of that nonsense in the last series.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/04/2019 19:38

My list of 'definitely dead'

Cersei
Varys
Melisandre
(All foretold)

Theon
Jorah
Jaime
(Arc of redemption)

Theon
Grey Worm
Gendry
(Main characters who are nonetheless 'expendable')

DH's is that he doesn't want it to turn out to be all about Bran. Completely agree.

HenSolo · 13/04/2019 19:38

I suspect that the character has been spoilt for me due to Emilia Clarke's appalling acting.

Agreed! I actually thought she suited Daenarys when it started and she was quite scared and innocent. But she can’t handle the character as she has become. The lines are so obviously written by someone saying, ‘Now what would a Badass Woman say in this situation...’

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/04/2019 19:41

Hen yes! And then Jaime fell into water that was suddenly 100m deep, and then Bronn swam across to the other side of the lake carrying an unconscious man in full armour. Balls.

OP posts:
JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/04/2019 19:43

Re Daenerys, I do think she's been let down a fair bit by lazy writing. A lot of her lines would be genuinely hard to say with any conviction /depth/realism.

Ed Sheeran making a reappearance
😂 We are just rewatching this atm. I always cringe at that scene!
