Things you hope DON'T happen in Game of Thrones season 8

All the main good guys survive and win.
One of the good guys gets turned into a White Walker BUT manages to retain some vestiges of their old personality after a massive internal struggle between good and evil, and then kills the Night King or enables him to be killed.

Both would be a huge cliche and not in the spirit of the show, imo.

Am I unreasonable to hope for less sexual violence and soft porn?

I don't think there has been any for a long time has there? Wracking my brains but I can't recall the last time there was any of that (not counting the Jon/ Dany shagging, with his unfeasibly round buttocks)

Commenting on something you clearly know nothing about just makes you look silly.

GoT set to record at 2am. Unfortunately, work gets in the way so I'll be watching at about 7pm

Thanks One. It's an old one I brought back to life, in the style of Jon SnowSmile

Don't forget Littlefinger. I'm all for him having faked his own death

That is the mentalist theory I've seen yet!

I want Tyrion to end up on the Iron Throne, he deserves it. I hope he kills Cersei. Sansa deserves a happy ending, she got rid of that sadistic wanker husband of hers so beautifully. Justice was served.

I reckon both dragons will be killed/turned.

I think, unfortunately, Tyrion will be killled off quite early on.

Jon and Danaerys won't have a happy ending.

Does anyone know anything about the spin-of shows? That might give a clue as to what’s going to happen (& not going to happen).

God I’m excited.

BearSoFair · 14/04/2019 19:27

Oh I love that Littlefinger theory! I don't think he will make a comeback but it'd be a real plot twist if he did, exactly the kind of thing GoT might pull out

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 14/04/2019 19:49

I remain skeptical about the Littlefinger theory. I watched the 'Your time is up' bit, and it isn't clear that that's what she's saying. Also, aren't they too far away to be able to see whether she gives him anything, never mind what it is?

I have no idea what will happen in S8 but I do think that the ending will be vague and leave us in suspense which will be tres frustrating. I just can't see it being a dotting the i's and crossing the t's exercise.

ChariotsofFish · 14/04/2019 20:48

The spin offs are prequels set in the distant past, so offer no clues.

I can’t see a way in which Littlefinger returning will add anything to the story, so can’t see why they would do it.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 15/04/2019 19:10

Been thinking and here's why the Littlefinger theory won't happen.

OK, so Faceless Men can only use dead faces - no wriggle room in that rule. So for LF to switch faces with someone else, he would have to be wearing the face of someone already dead. HOWEVER, he has known Catelyn since boyhood and she saw him as an adult on at least one occasion. The fact that she recognised him proves that he's had the same face (i.e his own) since boyhood. QED.

Just waiting for DS to go to bed before watching E1S8 - eeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Lol! You've been dwelling on it Grin

Not true - you remember Arya training at the temple of the faceless men, the Kindly Man put Arya's face on.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 15/04/2019 21:05

Dammit!

Grin Oh well. Not too long now before we see the show's end..

Someone mentioned the theory that Bronn is a Reyne, the last of them, obviously, and he is covertly working towards settling his score with the Lannister's. I don't think much of this personally but it was a theory I'd not heard of before.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 15/04/2019 23:02

Arya , Bronn and Tyrion don't die. That's it.

PositivelyPeach · 16/04/2019 09:17

Oooooh Tanelle I like it!

Thinking back to when he offered himself up at the Eyrie as Tyrion's champion - why was he there? We don't know do we?!

When he got introduced to Lord Tywin, it was "Bronn son of....." and Bronn said "you wouldn't know him"

PositivelyPeach · 16/04/2019 09:18

TanselleTooTall · 16/04/2019 13:08

Yes you're right, I didn't think about that.
Just had a little Google and Reddit has a few threads on this theory. Some say he (Bronndyne Reyne) does little things that you wouldn't expect a sellsword to concern himself with like correct Tyrion's pronunciation once, and he says, "my lord" rather than "me'lord". The Lannister's asked Bronn how he knew the words to The Rains of Castermere because its a bannersmen song, and Bronn once said he is fuelled by mass murder (I don't remember this one though). He always goes on about having his castle and titles..

Ok, so I didn't think much of it but now my ears are pricking up!
The actor has hinted that no one will like Bronn come the season's end so I wonder if he does something to Tyrion and/or Jaime. The Lannister's pay their debts.

TanselleTooTall · 17/04/2019 12:56

Oh God, I hope I've not ninja'd the thread..!Shock
