I don't ever drink coffee or juice or fizzy drinks. Anyone else the same?

I haven't drunk even a single drop of coffee, juice or fizzy drink for the last 5 years! I just drink plain water, unsweetened herbal tea and white wine (only once or twice a month though). I get quite a lot of inflammation, prone to allergies, ibs etc. but I do wonder if I'm still better off than everyone who regularly consumes coffee, juice and fizzy drinks or are some people genetically resistant to the bad effects of these drinks?

Do you notice differences between those who drink those and those who don't?

I know food diet is also very important but just looking at drinks here.

I have 2 coffees a day, apparently it is helpful during the menopause (could have made that up😂) but I just have water and peppermint tea the rest of the day, (unless our local has plum porter on!!!)

SimonJT · 11/04/2019 19:38

I only drink water and beer really, more water than beer though! I don’t drink any hot drinks, I’m not a fan of pop and fruit juice is far too sweet.

Breathingfire · 11/04/2019 19:39

I drink water and one or two cups of tea a day. On one of my very very rare nights out I'll have one or two proseccos then water. Anything else makes my reflux and ibs bad

In the last year or two I've started drinking juice, before I drank water, milk or fizzy drinks. Now I find fizzy drinks and any form of juice ( also bread) make my skin flare upSad Sorry to hear that OP and hope someone can help

ShowOfHands · 11/04/2019 19:40

I drink water and occasional fruit and herbal teas. No caffeine, no refined sugar and I'm teetotal. I feel pretty healthy but know no different. I've always been the same.

SickOfThePig · 11/04/2019 19:40

I drink a load of coffee, fully caffeinated machine stuff. Never had a problem with it. Can always sleep fine etc. Even in pregnancy I'm having 2 cups a day. I think I'd die of boredom if I only drank what you do tbh.

Karwomannghia · 11/04/2019 19:41

I drink water tea and Prosecco!

HolyForkingShirt · 11/04/2019 19:42

I hate juice and fizzy drinks but drink a shit-ton of coffee.

Why is coffee bad for you? I have decaff with almond milk which I fail to see how it could be unhealthy....

dancemom · 11/04/2019 19:45

Meeeee!

I used to be a Diet Coke addict but I cut all juice out and now I only drink water or black tea.

And rose wine on occasions!

IHaveBrilloHair · 11/04/2019 19:46

I drink maybe two cups of tea a week, beer a few times a week, and other than that only water.
Water is really my favourite drink.
It's just a preference though, not some kind of health thing.

IHaveBrilloHair · 11/04/2019 19:49

Actually, I've been at gigs a few times recently, didn't want to drink alcohol, so I drank water, I just really don't like soft drinks.

happyhillock · 11/04/2019 19:52

I drink a lot of tea and wine

Dillyson · 11/04/2019 19:53

DH only drinks beer, water and whisky.
He drinks gallons of water each week.

Titsywoo · 11/04/2019 20:01

I only really drink water. I don't have a sweet tooth so apart from the odd Fanta at restaurants I don't do fizzy drinks. I do drink alcohol but not a lot and just prosecco. I've never liked hot drinks so no tea or coffee. Not sure how much difference it makes to my health (hard to say although I've always been pretty healthy) but I do have good skin and I don't use products apart from moisturiser twice a week. I love water though. It's the only thing that makes me full properly satisfied when I'm thirsty. I like it very cold with ice. I must drink 10 glasses a day at least.

Crunchymum · 11/04/2019 20:08

Water, tea and rioja here. With the occasional diet coke.

lljkk · 11/04/2019 20:09

I thought coffee was a super food, now? Unique Flavinoids & all that.
I hate the taste but I still understand it's a fairly healthy choice.
In moderation & all that.

managedmis · 11/04/2019 20:10

I drink water, coffee, wine and diet coke.

Freddiemercurysjeans · 11/04/2019 20:12

I only drink water but will have a coffee say if meeting a friend. I would never make myself a hot drink at home.

madhousee · 11/04/2019 20:12

I drink water & tea at work.

Can of juice at home. I don't think I could ever cut fizzy juice out

Bezalelle · 11/04/2019 20:14

I gave up coffee about 4 months ago. It's done wonders for my anxiety.

However, I drink roughly 1 million cups of tea per day, builder's style and Chinese style. Sparkling water, and that's about it.

beansontoastz · 11/04/2019 20:18

I only drink black coffee, water (still or sparkling) and sometimes the occasional smoothie when out (for a quick snack) or a Diet Pepsi/7up when I feel nauseas. (Which is often as I take medicine that makes me feel sick!) Often need a fizzy drink a few times a week in the evenings but I try and stay away from the sugary ones.

BentCoppersOnly · 11/04/2019 20:20

I drink about 5 cups of coffee a day, a few sugar free fizzy drinks a week. Juice occasionally. I’m fine Grin

BlueCornishPixie · 11/04/2019 20:20

I drink water, coffee by the bucket load, juice AND fizzy drinks Grin and I feel great tbh.

I don't drink juice or frizzy drinks everyday but I fail to see how a juice or frizzy drink occasionally is going to be bad for me. I think as long as you are drinking plenty of water as well it's fine.

ScrambledSmegs · 11/04/2019 20:21

I did give up caffeine for a while. Have never liked fizzy drinks and rarely drink alcohol, I just don't like it much. I also consume as little dairy as possible. Juice is ok but I'd much rather eat the fruit than drink it.

Giving up caffeine did fuck-all for me. Had no effect on my sleep or my stomach. Even my failing thyroid doesn't care if I drink tea or coffee. Weird, isn't it?

BlackPrism · 11/04/2019 20:29

2 coffees in the morning, 3 litres of water and 1 Diet Coke a day.
My favourite drink is cherry juice though
