Shirley, obviously, totally knows her stuff about dancing. However I don't think she's great at live TV. The Lindy-Hop-Athon was a total fiasco for example, and I think Shirley handled it pretty poorly.

I do think having a head judge who was a bit better at smoothing over the inevitable cock ups of live TV was an asset.

Yes, she knows her stuff. It doesn’t mean she’s a good judge for a tv show.

I think she's a breath of fresh air, actually. I like that she's not totally au fait with how you're 'supposed' to talk and come across on prime-time telly and how she talks very technically sometimes. It's a good contrast to the judging and comments styles of Bruno and Craig.

Lindy-gate was excruciating, but it gave us all a lot to talk about, gave Claudia a well-deserved moment in the spotlight and will go down in Strictly history.

No news about the new judge yet (although the DM's rumour of the day is Carlos Acosta) but - It Takes Two is going to have a co-host this year as Zoe is being joined by Rylan Neal-Clarke.

Sad Darcy is leaving. She was kind, elegant and had a professional dance background.

I would not want to see some popstar person like Ashley tor Kimberley Walsh.

Natalie - forget her surname, the tall Aussie lass who was a pro for many seasons would be great. As would Oti. Or yes, Karen Hardy or Erin Boag.

Carlos Acosta? He's a tad busy, but he'd be good. I might decide to watch again if it turns out to be him. He certainly knows what he's talking about, that's for sure.

Along similar lines, I was thinking Akram Khan. He might have a bit more time on his hands now he's retired from dancing.

He always comes across as quite quiet and reserved, though, so I'm not sure he'd be the telly type. And I think I'd prefer another woman for a bit of balance.
