My panel would be Craig, Karen Hardy, Ian Waite and Erin.

Clawdy · 12/04/2019 09:47

Arlene Phillips?

cushellekoala · 12/04/2019 10:43

According to metro this morning Caroline Flack and Cheryl are both in the running!! Please not cheryl 🙏

ChicCroissant · 12/04/2019 11:57

Not Caroline Flack! Not keen on Cheryl either but definitely not Flakkers!

I wonder if Karen Hilton would be interested, she'd be good at the ballroom side and is a friend of Shirley's?

MintyCedric · 12/04/2019 12:01

Had to laugh at Seann Walsh tweeting that he was taking over when it was announced Grin!

Karen would be great. I love Iain as well but as a PP said I can't imagine them having 3 male judges.

Perhaps they'll rope Stacey Dooley in?

areyoubeingserviced · 12/04/2019 12:06

I would like Erin to do it, the only problem is that Anton was her professional partner. There may be accusations of favouritism

Shadycorner · 12/04/2019 12:11

Not sure I will want to watch it any more now Darcy and Pasha have gone! Sad. Both my favourites ... .

Whoops75 · 12/04/2019 12:13

Definitely wouldn’t watch Cheryl or Caroline

ShirleyPhallus · 12/04/2019 12:18

Fingers crossed for someone with a ballroom background and not a random celeb!

PCohle · 12/04/2019 12:19

I like it if it was one of the former professional, rather than a random celeb.

I'd like Ian Waite, James or Ola Jordan or Brendan Cole. I think a lot of the female professionals would have the same vibe as Shirley though.

I'm not sure why three male judges would be disastrous. It was originally in Len's day and we've got more women on the presenting side now.

It's a shame we can't get rid of bloody Shirley and Bruno.

Blompitude · 12/04/2019 13:08

I think it should either be a professional coach who may not be widely known, like Shirley was, or a pro dancer who used to be on the show. Alyona would be good as I think she'd be quite strict.
Don't think Ola would get it as didn't she and James (my guilty pleasure) leave under a cloud?
Not a celeb who won the show years ago and may not have danced since!
And yes, definitely a woman to balance the panel.

Breathingfire · 12/04/2019 13:10

Omg please don't let it Caroline flack. She'd be one of the only people who could put me off strictly.

I really hope it's some professional dancer I've never heard of. I hadn't heard of Shirley before. I want someone who knows dance inside and can judge properly. Not a celebrity

I do like iain mind

PCohle · 12/04/2019 13:10

Yes, I think a lot of the former dancers I would like would never actually be welcome back in a million years!

DarlingNikita · 12/04/2019 13:15

Old hat or not, Karen Hardy would be excellent. A proper ballroom dancer, knows her stuff inside out, is a teacher, so she'd be supportive and constructive... But didn't she stop doing ITT because of time pressures? If so then I can't see her committing to the Saturday show.

AnyoneButAnton · 12/04/2019 21:08

I think there is zero chance that they’d go for a proper ballroom judge. They have a quota of one ballroom judge and that position is filled by Shirley. Karen could only join if Shirley left because her general vibe overlaps too much.

Possibly they could go with Ian Waite, (who I’d be very happy with) because he’s very likeable on ITT, and reasoning that with 2 female presenters they could get away with 3 male judges, but OTOH maybe they might feel that 3 gay men is a bit skewed even for Strictly. It’s tricky.

Runkle · 12/04/2019 21:12

Karen, Ian, Erin or Matthew Cutler please. Hope they don't do an x factor and chance it on randoms

AnyoneButAnton · 12/04/2019 21:52

I adore Matthew Cutler but he seems shy of public scrutiny and temperamentally unsuited to the role. It’s a job for someone who fancies life in the public glare.

MWestie · 12/04/2019 22:24

I would hope it's a woman but if not I'd love Matthew Bourne...he's a big fan of the show. Though think he's already vetoed any such suggestions on Twitter.

AnyoneButAnton · 12/04/2019 23:54

Sir Matthew would be fantastic but he’s a busy busy chap with a full time job creating enduring works of art, so probably shouldn’t spend too much time making comedy faces at Bruno and Claud on a shiny floor show. I’d love to see him as a guest judge on a show or two though.

MWestie · 13/04/2019 00:11

Very true @AnyoneButAnton...just wishful thinking on my part as I adore all of his work and can't get enough of him!

sardinesontoast · 13/04/2019 00:32

Helen Richey has been mentioned in a few gossip columns (Aus dancing with the stars)
Don't know anything about her

ChoccyJules · 13/04/2019 13:00

Sorry, I‘ve clearly gone mad, I could have sworn Zoe announced she was leaving ITT when she got the Breakfast Show gig. Must have dreamt it!

IvanaPee · 13/04/2019 13:03

Bring back Len and take Shirley down a peg or two is what I say!

DarlingNikita · 13/04/2019 13:49

Bring back Len and take Shirley down a peg or two

That's really mean. Shirley knows her stuff.

I think Len was well past his sell-by date and was relieved when he left. He'd got very mouthy, arrogant, even aggressive in the way he spoke to/shouted at and gestured at people.

Runkle · 13/04/2019 13:52

Seriously why do people think Shirley needs putting in her place or taken down a peg or two? She's always very constructive with her advice good or bad and is a genuinely nice person.
Len was repitive and outdated.
