Day 2 here.

Weather shit.

Off to a free 'dressing up' workshop thing locally at 1.30pm. have to say what i'd really like to be doing is curling up under my duvet and having a couple of hours sleep. All kind of stresses going on at the moment.

Kids bored..bickering..making lots of noise/mess.

They are both booked into a holiday club tomorrow though for the day, which also happens to be my birthday (win) so looking forward to lunch with my friend, child free..whoop!

Next week will be better as off to in-laws back end of the week for a few days, and I think a change of scene all round will be good for everyone.

How is everyone else getting on?

my children's Easter holiday don't start till next week

implantsandaDyson · 09/04/2019 12:49

Fab so far - my primary aged kids are still in school until Thu week Grin. I've pretended to do some cleaning, exercised, watched TV and listened to music and faffed about.

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 09/04/2019 12:55

Day 2 here too.

Yesterday we went for a walk, a dragon Easter egg hunt thing and a picnic. My dc didn't behave too badly though I did have to tell my eldest off a few times for wondering away and hurrying us along when we were trying to enjoy a gentle stroll.

Today we've done frick all so far. Dc have played out or watched TV. I've Hoovered up. I'm not doing any laundry though because there's not enough to fill the machine Shock Shock Shock

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 09/04/2019 12:57

Later in the week we're off for a trip out to a museum in a city a few hours away. My mum has offered to take the dc out to the caravan for the weekend which, if it goes ahead and my siblings don't have other ideas and she drops me in favour of them, means dh & I get 2 whole days and nights to ourselves!!!

DavetheCat2001 · 09/04/2019 13:00

hurrah for GP's!

Easter weekend we always take a trip across to the West Country to visit friends whilst the kids spend the night without us at OH's DP's.

It wouldn't be so bad if the weather was ok..spent a damp and misty day at the park yesterday with a friend and her kids, then kids watched a film in the afternoon.

oop..another fight breaking out in the next room...sigh..

Second week here. It's been fab and busy

Bubblysqueak · 09/04/2019 13:03

Wet here too. Went to the park on our scooters and jumped in puddles. DC are now cuddled up on sofa under a duvet watching a film while I procrastinate about writing my MA essay.

BillywigSting · 09/04/2019 13:03

Day three here.

Actually not terribly. Ds was a horror on Friday, better at the weekend, a horror yesterday morning (he then got a serious bollocking) and has been reasonably well behaved since.

Local library has free stuff on every week day except Wednesday which has helped no end as I'm down to my last tenner and need to buy food. The weather is fairly nice, sunny but not hot.

We are mid house move (bought a project that was more work than we anticipated) and that is proving to be a good bit more stressful and difficult than usual while ds is off school. And it's bad enough when he's not.

Keeping an only child entertained for two weeks with no money is hard work though.

Day 2, biggest challenge is get the 11 year old off a screen. 6 year old happy pottering around. Few days away at the end of the week so am trying to not get to bothered about Xbox use.

user1494055864 · 09/04/2019 13:09

Really crap so far. Finished school on Friday, and DD2 started vomiting Friday night. Today is the first day she has been able to get dressed, but she has barely eaten, so is still not up to going anywhere. Thank goodness for Amazon prime, I've been able to supply her with activity and sticker books to do in bed!

DavetheCat2001 · 09/04/2019 15:25

Hope she's better soon user..horrible way to start the holidays.

We've just been to a 'dressing up' workshop at our local theatre..bless them as they are running free things for kids to do all this week. DD wouldn't get involved but just made a nuisance of herself, winding up her brother and showing off, and DS used it as an opportunity to tear about noisily in a cramped space, so I felt like I spent most of it telling them to calm down.

Got the dentist at 4pm, so off out in the rain again...today is dragging.

...I am however going over to a friend's this evening for pizza, wine and gossip so that's the carrot dangling at the end of my stick!

Our area breaks up on Friday so no hols here yet. Very late

GooodMythicalMorning · 09/04/2019 15:30

day 2: ds already bored as out of his routine (has aspergers and needs his routine) so hard work as questioning everything and refusing to do anything. dh on nights so also trying to keep a quiet household, so much fun. plus im not feeling well.

DesparateDino · 09/04/2019 15:33

Mine aren't off yet till Friday, they are shattered.

BikeRunSki · 09/04/2019 15:34

It hasn’t started yet!!!

flamed12 · 09/04/2019 15:35

Week two here.

We’ve done baking, museum, softplay, park, library, Easter egg hunt and cinema. I have a toddler who is happy to play with toys but my 7 year old needs constant stimulation otherwise it’s tv and Xbox for him and I feel like he’s constantly On a screen then!

L1989 · 09/04/2019 15:35

Day 2 for us and I've been poorly for both daysSad heeeelp lol

NancyJoan · 09/04/2019 15:43

Day 2, crappy weather. We're watching a at Netflix doc about cat shows in Canada. DS is moaning about having to do a tiny bit of maths every day. The type of moaning that takes 5 times as long at the maths.

gallicgirl · 09/04/2019 15:45

Day 4 here and I was ready to go back to work today - thought yesterday was Tuesday.

Kids refuse to go outside and just want to watch tv all the time. Obviously they want to watch shit on youtube rather than any of the many great films they have.

They don't want to do any of the activities I have planned or interrupt me so much doing housework that we run out of time to do activities.

I think the gin will be gone before the end of the holidays!

ohtheholidays · 09/04/2019 15:45

Really good so far.

On Saturday our youngest DD went and played golf with her Dad and went and spent her pocket money afterwards.

Sunday we all went out for a nice meal for lunch and then me and our oldest DD15 went into town, the other DC and DH went home to laze around.

Yesterday my DH and our DD11 went to a large park and played on the equipment and had a long walk in the countryside and had coffee and cake at the cafe,DD15 went out with her friends and I pottered around the house getting bits and pieces done.

Today we've had a lazy PJ day(unusual for us)and were watching Incredibles 2.

isabellerossignol · 09/04/2019 15:47

Ours haven't started yet. Elder child's school don't finish until next Thursday, younger child finishes this Friday.

Gertie75 · 09/04/2019 16:22

Seems really early to break up two weeks before Easter, when do they go back?

Mine break up Friday then have 2 weeks off.

missyB1 · 09/04/2019 16:28

Into the second week now. It’s crap really as I’m revising for exams, got my first one on Friday morning and second one next week. Can’t do much with ds as I’m terrified about the exams and cramming like mad. Feel guilty but he’s being good as gold and hasn’t complained. Promised to make it up to him in May half term and summer holidays.

DavetheCat2001 · 09/04/2019 16:58

This week isn't so bad..

Tomorrow - both are going to a sports and drama camp at the school for the day
Thursday - DD is going to a gymnastics club for the day. I'll do something with DS.
Friday - we have a 'den building' workshop for an hour or so in the morning, then hopefully the weather will be a bit better and we can head to the park.

It's next week I haven't got much planned.

OH has taken Tuesday off, but notoriously never plans anything so will have to see. Friday we are off to the inlaws in the countryside for the Easter weekend/Easter egg hunt etc which the kids LOVE. Staying there till the following Tuesday 23rd (which is an inset day)..kids then back to school on Wednesday 24th.
