Can anyone recommend a decent face cream for dry skin?

I don't care about anti-wrinkle stuff. I just have dry skin and I don't mind paying a bit extra.

I currently use Simple but it's not that great.
I've tried Dream Cream but I can't handle the smell.

Vaseline Intensive care in the big white bottle or Oilatum. Both brilliant and fine for using on the face. 'Face creams' just weren't working for my dry skin this year!

Vaseline intensive care, that sounds about right.
Thank you.

I use Garnier botanical day cream. I've got dry sensitive skin.

Thank you.

I've used Garnier before and wasn't that impressed.
I'm going to give the Vaseline a go, though.

I take off make up with coconut oil and a hot cloth at night and then put on Child’s Farm baby moisturiser. Doesn’t work without the coconut oil underneath, though.

Eucerin is fantastic, I use this one www.eucerin.co.uk/products/urea-repair/replenishing-face-cream-5percent-urea and the night version. My skin is very dry and reactive

InterchangeableEmma · 06/04/2019 16:50

I don't live in the uk but it was on offer in boots last time I was

Happynow001 · 06/04/2019 16:50

The Eucerin range (have a look at Boots online and buy during promotions - and also get your Boots Advantage points if you have the card) is really good. Also do you use a serum under your skin cream - very useful in particularly dry areas.

I've tried loads of creams for my dry skin but I keep going back to La Roche Posay Nutritic Intense Riche. It's the one in the glass jar, not the tube and it's usually on offer somewhere.

BoobiesToTheRescue · 06/04/2019 16:55

Serum before cream?

What kind of serum?

I use aveeno and literally swear by it I have really dry skin at the minute and it works wonders for me

chrissieone · 06/04/2019 17:08

La Roche-Posay Nutritic Intense Riche . I have really patchy, dry areas on my face. This works wonders for me. A light layer for day time and slap loads on at night. Doesn't irritate my skin and feels fab in the morning. I usually buy it when it's on offer for about £10.00

Blackandpurple · 06/04/2019 17:09

I use Boots No7 stuff.

MyKingdomforaNameChange · 06/04/2019 17:09

I use this and love it!

Thanks, I've been using Aveeno for the last week and I'm surprised to say that it's done absolutely nothing.

I think I have roscea which doesn't help.

Or try CeraVe hydrating cleanser - I haven't tried it though.

BikeRunSki · 06/04/2019 17:22

A couple of drops of BioOil.0

Ruleof4 · 06/04/2019 17:28

Vitamin e serum and then intensive moisture cream, either Superdrug own brand or the body shop! Both are fantastic, I have extremely dry and sensitive skin

CrystalTits · 06/04/2019 17:29

I have really dry skin. I was given a L’Oréal day cream (red pot) as part of a goody bag and glad I didn’t pay for it, it just sits on my skin and makes my complexion look oily. The only moisturiser that works for me is Liz Earle, either the standard or superskin moisturiser - it’s easily absorbed and seems to hydrate my skin throughout the day.
Hope you find one that works for you OP.

ArfArfBarf · 06/04/2019 17:32

I also use La Roche Posay Toleraine Nuit (the blue cylinder in the photos above) and would really recommend.

I’ve also started using a hydrating serum from the same brand and I think it’s helping too but I haven’t been using it long enough to say for sure.
