I don't think so. But my friend thought he was.

CoolCarrie · 06/04/2019 00:44

Anyone got a photo is the sublime Nick Drake to share? I don’t know how to. He was a beautiful man with a rare talent. Like the stunning Richard Beckinsdale Nick died very young, but what a voice and face he had.

MrsTerryPratchett · 06/04/2019 00:46

He does nothing for me but here you go Carrie.

Another stunning man was Christopher Jones, the major from Ryan’s Daughter, and I totally agree that many of those older stars had real character, and like James Stewart and Audie Murphy had guts to fight in WW2, brave men, unlike the many snowflake stars now.

Princess1066 · 06/04/2019 00:51

The original heart-throb anyone?

I still have such a crush on cartoon Robin Hood. He is so dashing. Although I do also have a thing for Brian Griffin Blush

PrivateIsles · 06/04/2019 01:11

He was based on the Errol Flynn version of Robin Hood wasn't he - pretty accurately I reckon!

elp30 · 06/04/2019 01:29

My mother was a huge fan of Luis Miguel Dominguin (1926-1996), a legendary Spanish bullfighter.
She had a photo postcard up on her bedroom mirror of him and I remember seeing it every single day and thinking he was so handsome in his "traje de luces" (suit of light).
I'm not in any way a fan of bullfighting but I just found Dominguin to be so exotic and I took to learning more about him over the years.
My mother died when I was a child so Dominguin is a connection I have to her.
His son is a famous Spanish pop singer, Miguel Bose, and I find him quite talented, extremely beautiful and so graceful.
I now have that photo postcard of Dominguin in my possession and I do look at it from time to time and it makes me sigh.

Ooh yes CoolCarrie Nick Drake was so beautiful and such a rare, unique talent (who inspired a billion copycats 30 years later!) He seems so much a part of nature (ever tried listening to his music driving through the countryside? I highly recommend it) But other worldly too.

RuffleCrow · 06/04/2019 07:19

I completely disagree Alaric.

I'd swap a hundred David Beckhams for one Richard Beckinsale. Character & soul is what make a man sexy and what's missing from today's male celebs. I speak as someone born in the 80s.

Totally disagree Alaric, to think that Brando or Paul Newman or Tony Curtis wouldn't turn heads nowadays is ludicrous.

bourbonbiscuittin · 06/04/2019 08:40

Didn't Billy Zane go out with Kelly Brook for a while ?

IntoValhalla · 06/04/2019 08:43

(I’m in my early 20’s, so this actually isn’t that far in the past Blush) but a young Bruce Willis Shock that scene in Die Hard is the only time I’ve felt fanny tingles from watching a man pick broken glass out of his bloodied feet Confused

NowIKnowHowJoanFelt · 06/04/2019 08:48

TansyViola (gorgeous name btw) - yes, he's hot.
