Are modibodi pants any good?

I keep seeing adverts for them for incontinence and periods but they are expensive. Anyone know if they are any good? I have incontinence following childbirth (kids now 2 and 5). I've done the exercises etc and don't want surgery so after other options. Thanks .

I've been looking at these too - would be interesting to hear if anyone has tried them!

APurpleSquirrel · 27/03/2019 12:33

I'm interested in these too - found a review in Cosmo - www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/body/a19591494/period-proof-underwear-modibodi/

They're pricey but if they work & last then better value that sanpro every month.

I bought three pairs a couple of months ago, so far so good. Comfy big pants- bigger than I'd usually wear but totally fine.

I'm on the Mirena so only have v light bleeding during periods, had gone from my mooncup to panty liners and didn't like the waste, that's why I tried them. I wear a pair all day and stay dry and comfy, rinse them out leave them to dry, new pair at night, dry rinsed pair next day (this is what I interpreted their guide to use as).

When done for the month I wash them on their own in a laundry bag as they need a cold wash.

Yes expensive but they'll last many years. Got a girls' pair for DD to try when the time comes.

Has anyone tried the swimwear that meant to be period proof? First year for dd having periods and worrying it’ll be due while we are away. As a great swimmer this would be a real inconvenience for her on a pool holiday.

TotalNoob · 27/03/2019 14:26

I’ve not tried Modibodi but I’ve got six pairs of period pants from Cheeky Wipes. They’re amazing. They’re “padded” right up the back and front so no worries about leaking. I use them with tampons on heavy days and at night and just on their own for most of my period.

They’d be great for incontinence as well I presume for the same reasons. Think it was £25 for three pairs although I got mine on Black Friday so they were a bit cheaper. And I’m still on the same box of tampons I was using in November Shock

exitstageright · 27/03/2019 14:53

I struggle to get how the swim wear works.

Having used similar period pants. Rinsing out is bloody to say the least (sorry!). Surely swimming is another form of rinsing.

That said if period is light and costume is put on just before swimming then changed (ie not used all day) it might be ok.

However I wouldn't risk my DD getting out of the pool and having bloody water running down her leg!!

Cantdoright1 · 27/03/2019 16:05

Thanks all. I've ordered 2 pairs from modibodi as I didn't know about cheeky wipes. I've since orders a 3 pack from cheeky wipes too. I'll let you know what they are like.

I'm wearing mine for the first time. So far so good.

MissWimpyDimple · 28/03/2019 22:14

I've bought the shorts for DD for when she needs them. A bit more padded than I expected but if they work I'll be very happy.

TwoShades1 · 28/03/2019 22:59

I have some for periods. I’m quite happy with them, only had them leak once and I had a quite a heavy day and pants I have aren’t designed for that level of absorbency. I would definitely consider buying some more of them in different styles and absorbency levels.

HettyPain · 28/03/2019 23:06

I recommend them for periods, definitively. The Modibodi ones are very good. The material is nice quality. I also bought some from Cheeky Wipes. Work just as well but the material isn't as nice. The Modibodi ones do cost more so I guess you get what you pay for.

anniehm · 28/03/2019 23:32

Please come back and report. I have the lined pants designed by Annabel Croft which are ok for mild incontinence but I use pads still for periods. My DD's have them as extra protection too

PRoseLegend · 28/03/2019 23:35

I've never used period underpants but I'm a big cloth pad user.
I currently use some light liners with a bit of extra absorbency for my stress incontinence.

Dragonlight · 28/03/2019 23:40

They're brilliant! My bleeds are quite heavy but have never had a leakage problem with the heavy absorbency pants. Dd also uses them and loves them. I'd love to hear from anyone who's tried the swim wear before I buy.

MissWimpyDimple · 29/03/2019 19:58

Sorry if it's a bit gross. But do you feel "wet" in them or is it absorbed?

Girlsnightin · 29/03/2019 20:03

I've got them. They're great. I bought the 5 pack deal, and bought another recently. Very impressed and finally stopped leaking especially through the night. If it's a heavy one, I might use a tampon too while at work.

MimsyBorogroves · 29/03/2019 20:09

I'd be interested to know if they work well for bladder weakness (thanks DS1 and 2) - I'm using the tena lights but I hate pads - they make me itch.

Girlsnightin · 29/03/2019 20:19

I think they advertise them as being suitable.

TotalNoob · 29/03/2019 20:37

@MissWimpyDimple I don’t feel wet in my cheeky wipes pants unless they need changing. They’re miraculous. I have a fresh pair in the morning (7am), after work (3pm) and at bedtime (10pm).

marvellousnightforamooncup · 29/03/2019 21:45

Word of warning, I bought some cheaper period pants on Amazon after seeing Thinx advertised. I love a bargain so tried a lesser brand and they're rubbish. Whoever designed them thinks you must bleed out of your bum because the protection is too far back and ends at a seam midway where a normal gusset should be. My Modibodi ones are perfect.

RandomMess · 29/03/2019 22:29

Seriously going to consider buying sone but I am so fussy about comfy knickers 🙈 most ride up my cheeks or dig in along my groin...

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 11/04/2019 21:49

Oooo! Just bought some modibodis will report back Grin

EmpressJewel · 11/04/2019 22:07
