Secret Cinema - Can anyone help narrow this place down?

Hi,

I've booked tickets to go the Casino Royale secret cinema in June. We will be travelling quite a way and need to book a hotel for the night. Obviously the location is a secret until closer to the event but there is a clue on the website to help you book the right area. All timings are for the Underground from these stations to the station nearest the venue:

Liverpool St - 35 minutes
London Bridge - 40 minutes
Oxford Circus - 45 minutes
Kings Cross / St Pancras 45 minutes

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Just book nearer the time.
We attended a pop up restaurant last week and only had 10 days to find somewhere to stay: the last minute spontaneity is half of the fun!

BlueSkiesLies · 22/03/2019 13:27

That covers most of London!

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 22/03/2019 13:32

Given the times on there, I could only narrow it down to being so where in East London, possibly central line.

If you do an circle from them all to cover the areas, I think your near at Ormands Hospital area.

Thanks, I'll have a look at a map properly - felt a bit overwhelmed when I first looked! GahWhatever - whilst I enjoy spontaneity my bank balance enjoys earlier, and therefore cheaper, hotel bookings!

we went to the moulin rouge secret cinema (it was AMAZING!!!). We booked a hotel after the location was given no problem (holiday inn).

tippyteapot · 22/03/2019 15:04

Have you been to secret cinema before OP? We arn`t into bond at all, so not for us this year.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 22/03/2019 15:07

Does this help at all?

tippyteapot · 22/03/2019 15:08

If you have a suspicion on location, look on google sattelite for empty warehouses, buildings like that (moulin rouge was). From the outside not much is given away!

onelittleclara · 22/03/2019 15:09

All the ones we have been to so far have been roughly in the East London area.

snoozetastic · 22/03/2019 15:11

Book something that can be cancelled and then if you get it wrong you can book somewhere else

TimeIhadaNameChange · 22/03/2019 15:19

Looking at the map it only makes sense if you have to go through LS from the other stations - could be Grange Hill or Dag East, but there are probably other options.

Tavannach · 22/03/2019 15:31

I'm on my phone so can't look properly but I think on that information I'd be looking at Premier Inn, Stratford. Central, Jubilee and Overground lines.

Delatron · 22/03/2019 17:12

Looks a way out from central London then. 45 mins on the tube from Oxford Circus would take you way out East. You’ll have to wait until nearer the time.

LizzieBananas · 22/03/2019 17:17

Sounds East so I would repeat at the above advice to be near Stratford so you have all the lines into Stratford to use.

kerchow · 22/03/2019 17:38

It’s in Dagenham this year.

Nextyear · 22/03/2019 18:12

Thanks everyone - I’ll look to book something East then. kerchow how do you know for sure? tippy no, not been before. Friends booked it so we said yes without really knowing about it!

I'd rule out the Moulin Rouge/Bladerunner venue because Canning Town is not 35 minutes from Liverpool Street.

Would be intrigued. Bladerunner wasn't great so haven't bothered with Casino Royale but the others I've been to (apart from the rained off Romeo & Juliet) have been fantastic

kerchow · 22/03/2019 18:36

I live nearby Op & got some promotional info through the door.

Nextyear · 22/03/2019 19:22

Thanks kerpow and everyone else - I’ll look at booking something in Dagenham then.

its not "just" watching a film. Its an immersive evening in the film. EVERYONE is dressed up (I was a can can dancer for moulin rouge). Actors act out scenes from the film and stuff.... ALL staff including security are acting as characters appropriate from the film. So if you love a particular film its being in it for a few hours. vimeo.com/248696624

tippyteapot · 22/03/2019 19:48

this shows what we experienced...... the films on a giant screen with a stage beneath it, where scenes are acted/ danced out exact move for move , such as can can, roxanne . satine was above us doing diamonds..... you get the picture? OP they do bag searches and phones are not allowed. They will securely store them. Security are all over making sure no photos are taken (you wont know who they are!). Thats why you really cant find much in photos in a google search. Its a secret!! BUT its worth it if you love the film. have you been given your character? we also found cash wasn`t needed. card payments for everything.
