I accidentally booked Truro, Canada, instead of the SW of England.

So, we have to go to Truro in the South West soon, for a weekend, for DDs obsession hobby. So, as usual, we had a good look on Booking.com.I like the lack of paying for cancellation.

I was looking on the app on my phone, DP was looking on his phone. He found a place that was far cheaper than any I could see. He kept on about it, until I asked him the name, googled it and got taken to it via the App. It gave the price in £££, so I booked it. It looked lovely.

The booking confirmation came through and it was in CAD! Took me a while to work out that meant Canadian Dollars. Then I looked and saw it was Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada. Lucky I could cancel straight away, but DD thinks it's hilarious, so, well I thought I would share our stupidity with you, so you can have a laugh and maybe make me feel better with similar tales.

Loving today's story about the BA aircraft that took off from London City airport en route to Dusseldorf, and when the announcement came that they were about to land at Edinburgh airport, it took a passenger's enquiry and a show of hands before the crew realised

Holy hell! How the actual fuck did that happen?

The pilots followed the previous day's flight plan for that particular aircraft apparently. Nobody twigged until they were actually landing.

We went on holiday to Newquay (Cornwall). My friend called to ask if we'd like to meet up with her and her children to play on the beach halfway through the holiday.

We agreed thinking she must be on holiday close by...nope she'd travelled to New Quay (Ceredigion) instead. I think she went dolphin watching instead...probably more fun!

This thread is worrying me slightly as my husband is due to land at Gatwick (flying from Ireland) any minute now. FaceBook is telling me he's in Canada...

I booked flights but at the check-in desk they said I had forgotten to book for luggage for the 4 of us. 4 big suitcases....

Just before leaving home, I had printed out the booking confirmation, that said we had luggage booked. So I showed them the print out, very polite but insistent to show them they were wrong.

They kept saying it was not in the system, but I was determined, and they added the bags. I asked again, politely (honest!) If they could check for me the bags were included on the return flight, so I would not have to go through the whole argument again on the way back. They were super helpful and apologetic and fixed it there and then.

When I walked through security, and looked closer at my print out, I saw that it was for a trip a year ago Blush and I had blagged my way into them paying for our suitcases....

I was once asked by my DB to organise some luxury gifts for his best man and ushers at his wedding. He suggested some silk ties and cuff links.

Well, you cannot imagine his surprise when I rang him from Bangkok!

I thought he said Thailand when in fact he said Tie Land.

Silly me!

To be fair, it was entitled the Winchester campus. I only noticed when an email came through confirming and none of the students in the photos looked British.... Grin

A couple of weeks ago I had to attend two huge work dinners that I had organised as part of a senior management event. I arrived at the restaurant on the Tuesday night to find that we didn't have a booking as I had booked both restaurants on the Wednesday night!

I honestly thought I was going to pass out but luckily the amazing staff there managed to scramble together a long table in the bar area and I spun it as a 'fun, informal evening' instead of the posh three-course meal in a private room we were supposed to be having...

DH had to go to a 2 day conference in Barcelona for work. It was near our wedding anniversary, so we thought I would fly out with him a couple of days early, then I would go home and he would do the conference. All fine, all hotels/flights booked. Only problem was, he got the date of the conference wrong, it should have been the following week. So his work trip actually just turned into a jolly for us (and we conceived DS while we were out there Blush) and he had to send a colleague to the actual conference as he couldn't go anyway.
