Adults only, looking for really good food, not necessarily fine dining but an experience that feels like a treat. Pricey is ok so long as its decent value and actually worth it. Can travel anywhere in London

So far considering
The River Cafe
Rules
Benares
J Sheekey

Advice and suggestions welcome! Thanks

The Barbary
Temper Soho
St Leonard's
Brunswick House

Gloria

LadyOfTheCanyon · 19/03/2019 16:35

The Delaunay
Fischer's
Las Providores
Cinnamon Kitchen
Gaulthier
Kettners ( love a bit of Kettners!)
Bentleys ( bit less flash than Sheekeys but elegantly faded
Pizzaro ( Bermondsey st)
Roast (Borough Market)
Fredericks ( Islington)

Pollen Street Social

social eating house mentioned above is the same chef (Jason Atherton) and definitely want to go there next!

Wasn't keen on Benares, I didn't think the food was that great and felt a bit soulless

Absolutely loved Rules, the rib of beef was stunning. It’s my favourite restaurant in London.

TheVanguardSix · 19/03/2019 16:49

Another vote for Fischers.

superram · 19/03/2019 16:51

Chez Bruce. Galvin at windows. Wolsley.

NoWayNoHow · 19/03/2019 16:54

I second The Delaunay , Dans le Noir and The Wolesley

Tom Kerridge's new Bar and Grill is apparently fantastic too, but not been yet.

NoWayNoHow · 19/03/2019 16:54

Also, Roast in Borough Market.

LuckyAmy1986 · 19/03/2019 17:05

I have been to Rules a few times and loved it. The history, the decor! And yes, the food

TheFaerieQueene · 19/03/2019 17:12

Marcus at The Berkeley is lovely and didn’t deserve to lose its 2nd star.

Nopi is relaxed and fabulous.

Pollen Street Social is good, but has been a bit hit and miss in the past.

Sketch is fun.

Also worth considering, Dinner, Hakkasan, Corrigans.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 19/03/2019 17:37

My favourites are Galvin La Chapel near Spitalfields Market and Restaurant Story near Tower Bridge. Restaurant Story is seriously expensive though.

Hawkesmore is also always good.

Gauthier in Soho does a great tasting menu and feels quite special and exclusive.

Titsywoo · 19/03/2019 17:40

The restaurant (not the brasserie) at Oxo Tower is always good and you get a good view too.

bluechameleon · 19/03/2019 17:55

Cinnamon club is brilliant, I would never get bored of going there.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 19/03/2019 17:59

oh yes! The Cinnamon Club is wonderful!

BackinTimeforBeer · 19/03/2019 18:02

For a couple - The Palomar - get a seat at the bar rather than the restaurant out the back. brilliant food, atmosphere, fantastic staff, so much fun.
Pollen Street Social was dull - too rigid for casual fine dining.
Chez Bruce - great food
Ledbury - Best fine dining experience.

Mankymother · 19/03/2019 18:03

went to Galvin last week - very good but a bit formal. Wolseley was good food but I felt they cramped in too many tables and it spoilt the experience even though food was excellent.

I loved Nopi and cinnamon club is amazing. Also loved SushiSamba which has really interesting food and a great vibe.

ClosestThingToCrazy · 19/03/2019 18:07

I really liked Quillon, definitely preferred it to Benares. And another vote for Hakkasan.

Overseasmom100 · 19/03/2019 18:12

The Shard

cortex10 · 19/03/2019 18:12

Smith's Restaurant in Wapping

havingtochangeusernameagain · 19/03/2019 18:46

The nicest place I've ever been is Pied a Terre.

Murano is good too.

Also liked Pollen Street Social.

Whitney168 · 19/03/2019 18:47

We had a lovely meal at J. Sheekey in Covent Garden for my 50th, after several recommendations on here.

BackinTimeforBeer · 19/03/2019 19:19

I like Moro too and Exmouth Market is a a good street to go out in - lots of interesting pubs.

bebeboeuf · 19/03/2019 19:20

Sushisamba
