What Do You Keep In Yours?

RLABC · 17/03/2019 13:12

We bought 2 (quite pricey, for us) pairs of bedside chest of drawers to finish ours and one of the guest bedrooms off, yey! Smile Only now I haven't a clue what to put in ours. My husband can do what he wants with his (it'll be empty for months, guaranteed Wink) but I want to use mine, after insisting for 9 months that we NEEEEEED bedside units, I've got to!

We have a dressing room for the bulk of our clothes and a tallboy unit in our room for undies, socks, pyjamas etc. That's on the side of the room near the door so I get dressed/undressed that side if I do it in the bedroom. My bed side is near the balcony doors, no need or want to get dressed/undressed there.
So, I have no idea what to fill the drawers with. Inspire me please. What's in yours? Grin

Magazines
Books
Lip balm
Moisturiser
Sentimental stuff that I like to keep close
Handcuffs

Xiaoxiong · 17/03/2019 13:16

Hand cream. Contact lenses. Micellar wipes, night cream, glycolic acid pads. Glasses. Tissues. Hair elastics. The 10 different books I have on the go plus the journal I always intend to keep but seldom do. Odds and ends from my pockets at the end of the day when I put my trousers in the wash basket...

I don't have one myself, but I'd recommend it as the place to keep your sex toys!

Anything that is handy to have close but not needed out daily. Tissues, paracetamol, vicks inhaler, handcream, eye mask etc. Important documents and precious photos in the bottom drawer ready to grab if the house burns down.

RLABC · 17/03/2019 14:03

I'm thinking of changing sides now, I could put a lot of things in that I use on that side of the room. I'm not sure how to break the news to my husband Grin

My inhalers
Assorted shit which doesn’t have a home elsewhere
I used to keep jewellery in my old one

paxillin · 17/03/2019 14:18

I looked. Tissues, phone charger, foot cream, bed socks, contact lens solution and cases, sunglasses (wtf), spare change, scissors, hair bobbles, a random old bill.

CakeNinja · 17/03/2019 14:20

Top one has my daily skincare, serums, acids, day and night creams, sprays and stuff like that. Middle one has kindle and charger, foreign plug adaptors and my spare camera batteries. Bottom one has camera and lenses.

RLABC · 17/03/2019 14:25

Wow, you lot get up to a lot in bed Smile Most of the things you keep in yours have homes elsewhere, where I want to use them. I literally go to bed just to sleep (with a 20 minute MN browse before I drop off) I will put tissues and my Kindle in there but I'm still stumped for the rest of the space. I should have just got tables instead, they'd have been cheaper Grin

My bedside unit is more for putting things on - eg lamp, alarm clock, decorative flower in vase, glasses and coaster for my glass of water. I couldn't do without it.

The actual drawers are filled with - I don't know what as I never use them. Between window and bed. I get dressed in another area of the bedroom, like you.

RLABC · 17/03/2019 14:55

Mememeplease That's really want I wanted them for - my glasses, a lamp, somewhere to put my tablet and phone etc. The top I'll use no problem. When choosing them I almost chose tables but then thought of all the extra storage space drawer units would give so went for them instead. Bloody fool that I am Grin

My drawers are full but I genuinely don't know what is in there. Thy must be useful Hmm A bedroom version of the kitchen drawer of tat. A place for things that have no home. That are so very important that I've forgotten about them completely and have never used them for years!

I need a sort out don't I? Blush

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 17/03/2019 15:05

I have a bedside unit with three drawers. Top drawer... hand cream, body lotion, nail files, nail, clippers, foot cream, tissues, notepad, pens, gloves (cotton ones for wearing over heavily creamed hands).

Middle drawer... various items 😉

Bottom drawer .. pyjamas. I actually sleep naked but sometimes lounge around in PJs and also need them on holidays.

BearSoFair · 17/03/2019 15:07

Just looked in mine...
Tissues
Glasses case and spare pair of glasses
Tweezers
Face wipes
Hand cream and body butter
A few receipts
Diary
Several pens
Plane sick bags (not sure why and they must be about 15 years old by now!)

2 envelopes of documents

Asked DH about his and he has:
Piles of receipts that he's now sorting through, occasionally shouting "this is from 2006 why have we still got it?!" Grin
Condoms
Glasses case and cleaning wipes
A pair of socks
Passport
Couple of guitar and football magazines

TodoDoingDone · 17/03/2019 15:11

Loads of crap... That has no other home. Including a Time magazine on South Africa during apartheid. Go figure... In fact, you've just inspired me to attempt a tidy up.
