What Do You Keep In Yours?

We bought 2 (quite pricey, for us) pairs of bedside chest of drawers to finish ours and one of the guest bedrooms off, yey! Smile Only now I haven't a clue what to put in ours. My husband can do what he wants with his (it'll be empty for months, guaranteed Wink) but I want to use mine, after insisting for 9 months that we NEEEEEED bedside units, I've got to!

We have a dressing room for the bulk of our clothes and a tallboy unit in our room for undies, socks, pyjamas etc. That's on the side of the room near the door so I get dressed/undressed that side if I do it in the bedroom. My bed side is near the balcony doors, no need or want to get dressed/undressed there.
So, I have no idea what to fill the drawers with. Inspire me please. What's in yours? Grin

Mine's full of jewellery, I like to keep them in boxes not in a proper jewellery box.

Dh's is full of old receipts, old phone chargers and a ridiculous amount of 1p's, 2p's and 5p's from emptying his pockets every night!!

muckydogpaws · 17/03/2019 16:18

I'm very envious of you all with that extra storage. My DH and I have never managed to settle on specific sides of the bed, so I could end up either side. We therefore just have stupid little tables with a few bits on and I move my stuff as I need to. That's odd, isn't it? I've never found any other couples who do this so IRL I try to never mention it as it always causes a drama (obviously I work somewhere where nothing much ever happens!)

DH keps his socks and boxers in his.
Mine,
Tissues
Handcream
Make up bag with vibrators , cream, batteries
Vicks
HRT pessaries
Various bits of old make up, probably should be in the bin tbh.
Baby oil
Moisturiser
Steroids
Painkillers

Middle drawer has underwear and wool bobble remover.

On top there is a teetering pile of books, bedside light and alarm clock with usb charger.

Top drawer - random crap including tissues, Canistan, cotton wool, foot file, coin purse, sewing kit from a hotel.
Second drawer - socks.
Third drawer - pants
On top, I have a pile of books, eye cream, lamp, glasses case, notebook.
I'd like to clear out the bottom two and put books and stockings in the drawers though.

Asta19 · 17/03/2019 19:06

Mine has one drawer and a cupboard. In the drawer I have spare glasses, paracetomal, phone charger, pen, notebook, tissues.
In the cupboard I have iPad, reading book, a couple of puzzle books. I’m single but still needed one each side of the bed so it didn’t look odd! I need a use for the one that’s not on my side of the bed!

labazsisgoingmad · 17/03/2019 19:27

DontCallMeCharlotte · 17/03/2019 19:42

My DH and I have never managed to settle on specific sides of the bed, so I could end up either side.

I always sleep on the left (my left) at home but on the right when we're away and which I prefer. I'd change at home but I like being not nearest the door.

Anyway. Bedside drawers. We only have one smallish drawer each. DH's has a couple of cotton hankies from his Mum, some Ralgex, a couple of tourist leaflets from trips away and a pillow spray (unused). Mine is choc-full of card receipts and clothes tags Blush. Also a small pot of vaseline and some hand cleanser. Bottom shelves have books.

The three-drawer bedside cabinets in the spare room house my collection of scarves (must have a cull).

I don't actually know most of the stuff. I have some belts, a lint fluff remover, some pens, receipts, books that I've been meaning to read. But below that top layer I really couldn't tell you. I think there might be a copy if the karma sutra in there that DH bought for in a fit of optimism for a wedding anniversary once. As you can tell, it is not regularly used. Definitely need a sort out! Just think of all these tidy bedside drawers you have inspired.

LikeACowsOpinion · 17/03/2019 20:48

Top Drawer; my daily vitamins and the painkillers/meds I need within easy reach at all times. Hand cream, wet wipes, tissues, lip balm, moisturiser chocolate biscuits, various vape juices, Calpol and syringe.

Middle drawer; Kindle, Sky, TV and FireStick remotes, different chargers, the 3 books I've got on the go at the moment, PinSentry.

Bottom drawer; extra blankets, cosy cardigan, file with important documents/pictures/papers in.

Pretty boring, but everything I need. I spend a lot of time in bed once DD is asleep so like everything I could want near by.

Interesting how many of us have owned up to vibeys! Flowers
