Thoughts? I personally wouldn't have even noticed what she was wearing, she looks nice and it's not like she's parading round in a thong and nipple tassels!

Gah, cabin crew could have just turned the thermostat down. She'd have found her cardi sharpish then.

Tomtontom · 13/03/2019 20:07

Looking at her Twitter she is an attention seeker.

Almost like she did it to provoke a reaction!

kingfisherblue33 · 13/03/2019 20:07

Well, she’s bloody lucky if that’s The worst thing that’s happened to her in her life.

She’s wearing underwear. Should cover up.

Hollowvictory · 13/03/2019 20:10

She was wearing a bra

I'd have been freezing, I always am on a plane.

While I don't agree with the man who told her to sit down calling her a stupid woman, whilst she's standing up asking the rest of the passengers who is offended and who isn't, and then continuing to argue the toss with the cabin crew she was putting them all at risk of losing their slot. Therefore I can completely understand why he did tell her to sit down.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 13/03/2019 20:16

It looked like underwear to me. But I’m ancient now.

NunoGoncalves · 13/03/2019 20:17

It does look quite like a bra. And she would have been FREEZING on a flight in just that!

But at the same time, I'm not sure why a flight needs a dress code and couldn't really give a shit what other people wear, so I'm not really sure why they made such a fuss.

Dothehappydance · 13/03/2019 20:17

What a delicate little flower. Mountain, molehill springs to mind.

Soontobe60 · 13/03/2019 20:17

I'd just be thinking she's going to be really cold on the flight. I just flew back long haul from a hot place and one woman was wearing what can only be described as a playsuit that showed her knickers front and back, and was a crossover at the front that gaped open completely to reveal her breasts, which were braless. I wanted to offer her my cardi 🤣🤣🤣

Blahdeblahbahhhhh · 13/03/2019 20:17

I think they were way out of line.
Whether you would or wouldn’t choose to wear something is neither here nor there. I wouldn’t choose to wear a hijab or a tracksuit or a suit on a plane but it doesn’t make it inappropriate to do so.

Dress codes of planes which are just ordinary public places should be about what would be acceptable walking done the Highstreet. This wouldn’t get a second glance where I live (unless you were a teenage boy, but you get my point!)

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 13/03/2019 20:17

I'm amazed at how shocked people are about this. Apart from wondering how on Earth she isn't cold I wouldn't have been in the slightest bit bothered if I'd been on her flight.

ScreamingValenta · 13/03/2019 20:18

She apparently bought it as a 'summer top' in Zara. It's a bit skimpy for a 'top' but it's not indecent. I don't see an issue with it really.

pusspuss9 · 13/03/2019 20:18

Aragog, some people see the travel as an extension of their holiday.

but it's not is is it! It's a public transport with has rules as to what it's acceptable to wear. Many restaurants and other public places have rules on this as well.

hdh747 · 13/03/2019 20:19

Shaking and upset, but able to stand up and ask the rest of the plane 'what do you all think?' mmmm
Looks like a bra and a spot of attention seeking to me

EstrellaDamn · 13/03/2019 20:20

Trousers and a crop top? Who cares if there was 'very little back on it'?

Is the sight of a portion of a woman's back offensive then? Confused

NunoGoncalves · 13/03/2019 20:21

"Thomas Cook told me that they were going to remove me from the flight if I didn’t 'cover up' as I was 'causing offence' and was 'inappropriate'. They had 4 flight staff around me to get my luggage to take me off the plane"

Wouldn't the first step be just for one staff member to ask her to put a top on? Seems highly unlikely they'd jump straight to four employees getting ready to remove her and her luggage. And with the man shouting too, presumably she was kicking up a fuss over it from the start.

Nobody likes people kicking up a fuss over nothing on a plane. Nobody.

SquigglySquaw · 13/03/2019 20:22

It's a crop top! I see women wearing them constantly in the summer. Anyone offended by this is absolutely ridiculous. I feel bad for her, what a shitty experience to have.

TulipsTulipsTulips · 13/03/2019 20:23

She looks lovely. Her top is fine. The airline were way out of line.

Tiscold · 13/03/2019 20:23

Apart from stupid women i would have told her to sit down and shut up.

I don't care about your outrage, complain on twitter or to hq after the flight etc, not delay others when you've the option to cover up.

There's a dress code for a reason, to prevent people from wearing seriously offensive or revealing things.

It's to stop people wearing swastikas etc, or should there be no dress code and men be able to wear tops with fully nude women on?

81Byerley · 13/03/2019 20:23

She looks as if she's forgotten her top. Fine for the beach, but the airline were correct, I think.

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 13/03/2019 20:24

So once she'd sat down only the person next to her could possibly have a problem! Unless she intended to parade up and down the aisle once the seatbelt light went off obvs.

Tiscold · 13/03/2019 20:24

However i don't think what she is wearing is offensive, i'd just be pissed she's causing a fuss.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 13/03/2019 20:25

So I'm only going by the report OP linked but all the drama others are referring to could be interpreted as a young girl standing up for herself and not accepting double standards.

And actually whilst I won't actively seek out confrontation when I do stand up for myself or speak the adrenaline rush I experience immediately after especially if I'm in public or feel embarrassed will leave me with wobbly legs, shakes and a horribly flushed chest. Not a good look Grin But I can buy that happened.

NunoGoncalves · 13/03/2019 20:25

If I was on a plane in a top like that and one of the flight staff asked me to cover up by putting a jacket or top on, I'd probably scoff out of surprise at their delicate sensitivities, and then I'd just put a top on! (while laughing to my OH about how ridiculous it all is)

It would never get to the point of four staff threatening to throw me off the plane, or other passengers shouting at me, or anything like that, because I'm not a drama queen.
