Well, I say real life, I mean in person.

I'll start Grin

Eat excessive amounts of food without considering the calories

Let their DC off school for holidays

Wear leggings or Uggs

Let their children play 18+ games in Year 6/7

Wander round the shops on a weekend because it’s more fun than National Trust

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2019 21:20

Leaving the kids home?? No one I know does that

kenandbarbie · 10/03/2019 21:20

This thread is confusing me because of the double negatives. Are these things real people do but mumsneters don't?

Answer the door/phone. Normal people in RL tend to do that. Grin

Drink instant coffee.

Buy ready meals.

Have a bin in their bathroom.

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2019 21:22

Yes me too! Think so, eg "own a toilet brush" "eat ham in the shape of bear faces"

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2019 21:23

Actually fewer people drink instant I find. We're a dying breed

Sparklingbrook · 10/03/2019 21:25

Most people I know have a jar of instant in the cupboard. I have a Tassimo but according to coffee snobs that's worse than instant. Grin

Shortandsweet96 · 10/03/2019 21:27

Buy a small end of terrace house on a street with non traditional constructed houses opposite. Live in said house, on a less than 30k full time salary in the middle of a rural, but full of drugs community.

I'm poor.

It feels good to get that off my chest. Sorry MN please dont banish me to netmums :(

cricketmum84 · 10/03/2019 21:28

Put bleach down my loo (and as a consequence single handed LG destroy all wildlife in the local area)

Like my MIL

don't have kids with additional needs...

Shortandsweet96 · 10/03/2019 21:31

attended a state school

I can feel can fear of the private school parents from over in the education topic!

ThereWillBeAdequateFood · 10/03/2019 21:35

Use a towel more than once before washing it.

Leave an 8 eight year old home alone while you pop to the shops for 5 minutes.

Clean their own oven.

Believe that 40K is actually a decent salary.

Sparklingbrook · 10/03/2019 21:36

Oh no I am failing at this now because

I never ever use bleach-horrible stuff.
And I don't clean my own oven. Blush

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2019 21:38

Actually on mn there is a huge huge gap between private schools (which I think are very posh very old establishments) and the drug infested and lawless state schools. My dc go to a private school. Clearly I think the advantages are worth paying for but it's not the cost of a second mortgage (even up here where house prices are cheap) the parents aren't all multi millionaires and the state schools aren't failing crack dens with lion tamer teachers. There are many good schools, some very good schools and a few bad schools. The private schools are mostly great but aren't a guaranteed path into investment banking or politics.

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2019 21:39

I just cleaned my oven :o Sucj a horrible job but you do get to turn the light on and enjoy the cleanliness

VittysCardigan · 10/03/2019 21:39

Have a toilet brush
Have a bin in the bathroom
Answer the door/phone after 5pm
Feed my kids microwave meals/pot noodles/pizza ( as well as home cooked food)
Get pissed when the kids are in bed
Am really happy that my ex partners have happy relationships & we all get on

starzig · 10/03/2019 21:42

Everybody on mumsnet seems to have anxiety and autistic children. Know nobody in real life that has either.

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2019 21:42

I dont hink I'd get that same thrill if someone else had cleaned it

ChippyMinton · 10/03/2019 21:43

Never check their DCs mobile phones / games console useage
Visit McDonalds / Greggs

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2019 21:43

I suspect that's because npeople come for support. In real life I know two people with children with autism. And DH works with a third (I don't know her)

Sparklingbrook · 10/03/2019 21:45

Stealth it is wonderful. He comes round, takes the oven to pieces and the door off, and takes bits of it out to his magic van.
Then he does some scrubbing, puts it all back together and it looks like a brand new oven, way better than anything I could do and in half the time.

Bluntness100 · 10/03/2019 21:45

Drink alcohol
Answer the door
Like weddings
Buy peoole gifts
Go out

Shortandsweet96 · 10/03/2019 21:46

Some of my favourite shops consist of:
Home bargains
B&M
Lidl
Asda
And the range.

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2019 21:46

But i need the job satisfaction! And i couldn't afford a man!

ThereWillBeAdequateFood · 10/03/2019 21:46

I dont hink I'd get that same thrill if someone else had cleaned it

I feel the same way stealth I’m probably a bit odd though.

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2019 21:47

I'd still be happy. I just wouldn't keep turning it on and going oooh. And getting DH to come and see.
