I am turning forty this year and am having a mild and amusing mid life crisis.
Lots if little things, but the latest is that I've just tried to brush away a stubborn eye brow hair that was lodged just under my eye... It was a wrinkle.
I have also developed joint pain, in my thumb of all places.
Please tell me this is as bad as it gets :o

Stealth you are a spring chicken.

I accidentally bought a 6-pack of giant M&S knickers a few weeks ago. Think bloomers.

Most. Comfortable. Pants. Ever.

I was in a local shop thiamine g and there was an older couple with one of those shopping bags on wheels in front of me and found myself thinking what a handy thing to have Grin

x2boys · 16/03/2019 11:15

You're still a child OP. Wait till you hit 55 like me and have to choose between elasticated waistbands or painful trapped wind.

dreamingofsun · 16/03/2019 11:22

i'm in my 50's and have more time now the kids are older. so i've got a load more hobbies, socialise and party more, and am fitter due to taking up new sports/yoga. And no periods which is fab after years of heavy ones that always happened when on holiday with swimming pools. And with any luck my company will make me redundant and i can spend even longer on my hobbies

x2boys · 16/03/2019 11:29

My mum and Dad were both made redundant at 54 dreaming they worked for a national organizations that was being privatized (back in the 90,s) they got a great redundancy pay and than were able to take their generous public sector pensions at 55 they were very lucky!

x2boys

that's fantastic! It's the dream for quite a few people I think.

woodcutbirds · 16/03/2019 17:23

Dreaming I wish I was like you. I'm mid fifties and permanently shattered. Can barely crawl out of bed let alone take up news sports and socialise.

edgen2019 · 16/03/2019 17:34

I am probably the oldest one here, and thoroughly enjoy life!

dreamingofsun · 16/03/2019 19:47

woodcut - are you looking after yourself properly and eating good food? are you getting enough sleep....i love to sleep? I might sound like i am superfit....i'm not, just a bit more than when i was younger, and i've found things i enjoy which i think is the trick

woodcutbirds · 17/03/2019 16:35

dreaming I could probably look after myself better. I do love swimming, running and yoga, and some fitness classes like weights, but I just don;t have the energy for any of them any more. I walk and swim once a week, but pretty gently and apart from that I'm scompletely sedentary. I need to change that.
